Leaving the next morning.
Awful staff - they seriously need some training in customer service. Also the room was like a sauna - no aircon so the window had to be kept open all night (but was still too hot) with people in room next door smoking so awful smell of smoke in out room. Overall a terrible experience.
Price, proximity to airport, cleanliness
Room too warm, noisy guests
The facilities are good - compared with a few years ago much better than the basic accommodation I expected from one previous stay some years ago.
The facilities having (in my experience) improved, attention should be given now, to staff training.
Shuttle bus from airport only E3.00 ran until midnight, very helpful staff. Neat, clean room, excellent continental breakfast. All good.
all necessary facilities,clean
unsafe area . hear everything in the next room, felt unsafe
rate per night best in Dublin
location is not the best - nothing interesting around, but close to airport and not very far away from city centre
The room and comfy bed
Room & Beds were comfortable
The loud noisey parties outside the hotel practically all night.
We used this hotel as a stop off before our flight. All our bags were in the car. When we went for a shower in the morning there was no shampoo or show gel. We rang reception and they told us that they did not supply them.
After a really stressful day it was an Oasis of peace, calm and comfort
Bed is more comfortable where I slept
No shampoo in the showers, no free Wi-fi connection for a really expensive hotel.
Travel cot not in room Dirty room Noise from buses
The travel lodges do what they say clean comfortable rooms at a reasonable rate , what more do you want . This one had the added bonus of a airport shuffle which was excellent for what I needed and also just 20 min from the center
Had what we needed, reasonably priced, tidy and spacious room, close to food takeouts and shuttle bus to airport
so easy from airport and bus outside straight into city receptionist really helpful also shuttle bus staff I was able to get a quick easy meal and TEA super shower
I asked for a shuttle early in the morning, there was a sign. At the reception that said a time but however the first shuttle did not start 2 hours after the sign stated.. I had a very poor experience especially when I asked the lady the previous night what time they started and she lied. This hotel isn't close to the airport and was highly dissapointed. Waste of money and had to pay 40 euros for taxis to and from the airport!!
no shower gel;banging door during night;bar was not cosy;
Value for money close to crowne plaza & holiday in - but way cheaper friendly and helpful staff
hotel is in a gentrifying part of town, so if you meander out of the hotel the residents are a bit rough. residents also use the hotel lobby as a shortcut to their building, that gave an impression of unsafeness - could be unwarranted but just a feeling
quality of the accommodation cleanliness good car park good location for the airport
reception atmosphere reception staff not enthusiastic eating facility resembled a take away
Should have had 3 single beds, we got one double and one single instead
I liked the closeness to the airport; size of the rooms; cleanliness; tea & coffee in the room.
I stayed at the Travelodge with my partner, who came straight from work & found out he couldn't take advantage of the free parking (one of the reason's why I booked) because his transit van was too high to enter the secured parking lot. He arrived in the evening & was told he couldn't get anything to eat (so he had to go out to look for something). Room service wasn't suggested & it didn't occur to him at the time to ask (he was simply hungry after working & was 'in a hurry' to find somewhere still open). I arrived later & caught the airport shuttle (which I think should be free; as well as the wifi). The first bus to the Crowne plaza was fine but the next shuttle bus to the Travelodge looked worse for wear. I had a light coloured skirt on & was afraid the seats would make it dirty- that's how unclean the seats appeared. Even though the room was nice, I was surprised even for a budget hotel that there wasn't any basic shower gel for use. Also, my partner had checked-in & paid before I arrived. He'd sent the room number via text but I hadn't received the message so I had to ask the reception staff. They were polite but couldn't find any reference to my booking, which seemed unprofessional. I almost had to phone my partner to find out which room we had been given! For sports fans....sports TV had also been advertised on the website - which we also didn't have in the room.
Availibity of fresh milk for your cuppa. Nice shower location
the noise of a bus during the night
Convenience Transfers to airport for 3 euro
Area was a bit rough Carpet in room was soiled
The Travelodge Dublin Airport South is a disgrace. The carpets are filthy, stained by years of neglect. The first room they gave smelled of fish. The door to the balcony did not have a key and was open. It posed a potential threat because of the ease with with our room could be accessed. Only the hot ( boiling) water worked in the shower. They gave us another room. This also smelled: this time of mould. The shower did not work properly, and the carpets here were also badly stained. The door to the balcony was also open and there was no key. We protested. The guy on reception told us there was no danger. There was indeed a potential danger. Anyone from any of the rooms on our level could access our room from the balcony. Outrageuously, They have the gall to carge 5 Euro per day per person for the Internet. That means 10 euro a day for a service that shoulde be free for two people in the room if both want their personal Internet service. The hotel is in Ballymun, a dingy concrete jungle that does not feel very safe at night. Don't stay at this hotel. If you have to, pay a little more and stay elsewhere.
