Our second time to stay at this hotel - a real treat. We walked and talked and caught up with friends in front of roaring fires in comfortable and welcoming surroundings. I would describe this hotel as Classy - not flashy! We liked everything from arrival to departure. The location is stunning, the scenery is magical, the welcome was warm, the food fabulous, the beds comfortable - we loved it all. Leaving was difficult - I would just love to go and stay there for a month twice a year for the rest of my life! We were a group availing of a rate reduction to come together and celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. The staff were kindness itself and assigned the most magnificent room in the hotel to the birthday girl who was absolutely delighted. The manager arranged for the Saturday evening musicians to come into the dining room and sing Happy Birthday - thank you Des and Theresa and Babu and Martina and everyone at Ballinahinch castle - you are a top team. |

We thought the food was excellent and the wait staff was equally excellent. However the beds were poor, the cleanliness of our room left something to be desired, and the maid service was poor. We had to continually ask for three towels, washcloths, soap, etc. as we had three people in our room and I might add we paid handsomely for that privilege. The location is beautiful but there is lots of room for improvement. Yes it needs more upkeep as to maintenance in and around the hotel and the maid service was very poor, as I stated above. |

The grounds were beautiful - incredible views out of every window. Flyfishing available on site. Staff were attentive and friendly and the quality of the food in the diningroom was outstanding. Our room was very spacious and attractively decorated with lots of storage space. |

Quiet and relaxing. For those that are interested in walking, cycling, fishing this hotel is perfect. If your idea of excerise is to sit in a spa, then this is not the location for you! Excellent food, friendly staff and extremely confortable rooms. |

Stunning views, setting was above average Value for money wasn't great -especially 120 euros (approx $168) for two to eat dinner!!! And to eat elsewhere is a 25 minute drive. Also, room was small and there was a card in the room warning to close the windows at night due to "bats and midges" (which are gnats)... |

Beautiful place to stay. Leave time to go on one of the river and lake walks, just lovely. Excellent restaurant or great bar food. The whole place is charming. The one night we had was the highlight of our 3 week holiday. |

Kathy was extremely helpful to us upon arrival after getting lost and based on the location of the hotel on the internet site driving approximately 120 km out of the way. She made a horrible driving and arrival experience into a very plesant stay. Thank you again, Kathy. As memtioned above, the intersite stated that the hotel was just outside the Galway city centre, SO NOT THE CASE. Seriously need to state that hotel is approximately 120 km outside Galway cite centre. |

Food very good but expensive.Good wine list and good prices.Breakfast excellent.Lovey setting and great place for walks ,very peaceful. Furniture in public area very tired and in need of replacement. The classic room we got was very small and would only pass as a 3 star hotel room.Very disappointed with the room as we had heard great things about the hotel. |
