Ballynahinch Castle is located in an absolutely beautiful setting. We loved everything. The bed was comfortable. I didn't want to leave the room, but the great room with its beautiful fireplace was a place to sit and read or just gaze into the perfectly stoked fire. My husband is a pianist and sat down and played the piano. The food was wonderful. The staff was welcoming and helpful. That I couldn't stay longer......

The location with its peace and quiet was absolutely stunning. The common rooms in the hotel were comfortable and inviting with a very inviting glow at night. The fires were delightful I di not like that the dinner option in the dining room only allowed for a mandatory three course dinner for 60 euros. Any of the choices could be had in the bar, but only there. We would have liked a main course in the dining room as our dinner without more or less being told we had to take all three courses.

All the services were excellent. We had a waterside room with beautiful views of the river, with a four poster king size incribly comfortable bed and pillows. Perhaps the most beautiful dressing room and bathroom that I have used. If you intend to dine on the a la carte menu in the bar ,as opposed to the 5 course dinner available in the dining room. We did not expect it necessary to book a table in the bar.We had to wait for a table but in fairness they pulled out all the stops and got one for us in a reasonable time.

We had been in Irleand for over two weeks traveling the countryside before we arrived at Ballynahinch Castle. The bed was a king size bed which was a welcome sight after sleeping in double beds. The room was beautiful, the bathtub was deep, and the service thoughtful. We asked about laundry service and they rushed our order so that we could have it the next morning. We ate dinner in the Fishermans Pub at the Castle and the Seafood Chowder was the BEST we've ever eaten. We walked the trails around the river and lake and enjoyed the beautiful setting.

Well kept castle, relaxed atmosphere, comfortable bedrooms, amazing shower with purified mineral/bog water (looks funny at first but was like spa water), beautifully maintained trails on the doorstep, extremely helpful staff, various relaxation/reading rooms, views over the mountains and the river, log fireplace, proximity to Clifden, beautiful breakfast room with a view over the river, amazing breakfast (especially the fish)... one of the nicest places that I have ever stayed.

The surrounding land and walks were beautiful, it had a very relaxed attituted and the restaurant staff were great waiters (something that is rare enough these days) also all the front of house staff were Irish which was also a nice change! I also loved that there was no tv in the lounge areas. Oh and loved the shower! It was a little pricey and if you don't fish, there's not much to do in the way of facilities, which isn't too bad as Clifden is very close and has a lovely spa.

The location and setting is fantastic. Our hiking guide Noel Joyce was outstanding. Breakfast setting and view coupled with great food options. Initial room assignment was not as I expected with river view but they changed room to a luxury room with river view which was very nice

The location is ideal to take in the area and the staff were brilliant with great local knowledge.Breakfast was a relaxing experience with a great variety of excellent produce. The room was great with an excellent view and in the morning the sun shone straight into room. The walks around the estate were fantastic with a good variety of wild life, along the river and lake being particular nice. When relaxing there were plenty of log fires with comfortable seating to just chill out

Hugely welcoming. Every member of staff displayed a "can do, will do" attitude. All was possible. The feel good factor was evident in all the guests I saw. All staff seemed so happy to serve their guests. It's a very special place.

everyone was very friendly, we even met a barman with the same surname (little) the rooms we had were large and had the right amount of luxury. our stay on the 10th was somewhat spoilt by a noisy pump which kept going on and off, affecting one's ability to sleep (room 26), on the 20th we stayed in room 22 and it was all quiet.
