We went direct to the Castle from the Dublin airport having arrived in to Ireland after a one night stopover in Dubai from Australia. What a wonderful welcome surprise it was to open the door of the Castle, it is outstanding. We were made to feel extremely welcome indeed. Same reaction to open the door of our room "French". We certainly will recommend the Hotel to anyone visiting Ireland. We were sad to leave. Not much at all really.

Absolutely fabulous, had a 'superior double' which was just incredible, the whole property was warm and comfortable, only regret is not staying longer! The restaurant and bar looked lovely, breakfast was delicious, and there is plenty of 'open areas' to relax in, so you don't spend the entire time in your room. Did not eat in the restaurant simply because the vegetarian option (singular) was not inspiring, and as it was a set menu the price was exorbitant.

Ballyseede Castle was beautiful, restful, most enjoyable. My only complaint was I did not get long enough in that gorgeous four poster bed! My fault not Ballyseede's! We were at a wedding in a nearby hotel and did not get to bed until 4 am! Will definitely be back!

As avid visitors of 'Blue Book' venues and castles and period houses all around the country over the last 25 years, from Bellinter to Durrow to Ballynahinch to Adare, Ballyseede is right up there. From the moment we arrived we got that sense of comfortable luxury and authenticity, where everything about it exudes an ease with the world. We decided to dine in the formal dining room rather than the bar and we were deilghted with our decision. Again, the room is warm and inviting, mirroring the staff's attitude. It came as no surprise that the restaurant is the recipient of culinery awards, well deserved, the food was wonderful. Already looking forward to a return visit. If I have one criticism it is that on requesting the possibility of an upgrade which we always do wherever we go, we were told that it was indeed possible but at an additional charge of €30. In contrast, when we recently stayed at the Dunraven Arms - wonderful, top of our list - when we enquired about an upgrade we were very pleasently greeted with the news that they had already upgraded us. It is those type of gestures that really stay with you.

It is impossible to fault this "Castle Hotel" - from the greeting by Higgins and Einstein (an Irish Wolfhound and a Corgi-cross respectively) to the obliging staff, to the fabulous ambience of the place. Wish we'd had longer.

We were celebrating my birthday and it was really special. The castle was beautiful inside and out. Our room, the Goldsmith, was huge and decorated beautifully. The staff were very helpful. Food and service at the restaurant were excellent. The price was very reasonable compared to other castles we checked. We highly recommend it.

I loved the experience of staying in a castle. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the whole experience was very personal and enjoyable. the only thing that was not great was that there was a wedding the night we stayed and there was a lot of noise outside the entry way until 5 in the morning.

Highlight of vacation. Staying in a castle was one of the htings that we wanted to do. Booking.com recommended this and it did not disappoint. The grounds are impeccable and the staff out of this world friendly. My daughter loved Mr Higgins.

Gorgeous interiors. The friendly resident dogs. Hot and stuffy dining room. Dinner was an absolute discomfort. Also the castle grounds seem small and there isn't much to do in and around.

Excellent service and friendly staff. Superb menu and high quality food. Large bedrooms. Beautiful furnishings. We did not expect to have a basement room in a "luxury" hotel. There was no view except a dog kennel and a brick wall above our heads! One bedroom smelt musty and a new one had to be allocated (still in the basement). We expected to have small bottles of toileteries (shampoo, soap, etc) not soap dispensers in the bathroom.

I recently spent one night in Ballyseede Castle, and found it to be a relaxing friendly place to stay, the staff our excellent and nothing is too much bother for them, the proprietor Rory is a lovely man and it was great to hear about the history of the Castle. If you want a warm relaxing place to stay I can’t recommend this location enough, also a great location to tour Dingle from.
