Lovely homely comfortable hotel with excellent restaurant. Very friendly staff and nice continental breakfast. There wasn't much soundproofing between out room and the next door one. We could hear normal noise of people talking and the tv but every word could be heard in our room, even of a phone conversation.

The food was nice. The decor was nice too. Each course of our meal was served too fast. There was almost no time allowed between courses. Considering that this was supposed to be a relaxed meal with friends, I felt that the whole experience was rushed and bustled through. Also, (as with most hotels) the room was too hot and stuffy. The duvet was too heavy and uncomfortable. We were unfortunate to be staying in the hotel when party revellers decided to sing their hearts out in the bar until 5am. The bar is very small and we had to leave the hotel and go to a pub in the village thus defeating the purpose of staying over in a hotel in the first place. Apart from all that it was grand.

I liked the efficiency of the staff, immediately apparent when we entered the hotel. The decor is very calming and has unexpected touches such as beautiful woven piece of art in our bedroom, the angled lamps at the bedside ( essential for avid readers). The general air of professionalism of the staff is the jewel of this hotel, and the feeling of history as you go up the stairs , It is easy to imagine that Samuel Becket's spirit lives there.

The hotel is totally unsuitable for elderly or less able people.I had to climb 36 steps to room 6 and no one offered to carry my bags up.When I got into the bedroom exhausted after lugging a case full for a 10day holiday up I found the room was very cold . The fish dish I had at dinner was set on sweet potato which was swimming in vinegarette(yuck!!)Then climbing the 36 stairs back up to my bedroom was exhausting. The breakfast was very basic with no chef available for cooked food and when I complained about things all that was said was 'the manager is on holiday this week'

Food was excellent. Room was spacious, clean and quite which resulted in a relaxing sleep. Breakfast is basic. Liked the smoke salmon and brown bread but greater variety would be an improvement.

The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Due to a busy restaurant where we couldn't get a table and had to go elswhere to find a restaurant, the manager said he would upgrade us to a suite on our next visit. We didn't mind as we should have booked it earlier in the day. Our room was spotless and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was superbe and service was excellent. we like peace and quiet and countryside so if you're looking for action, go elsewhere.

We were just booking a hotel outside the city for a convention the next day and were attracted by the reasonable cost of a suite in the hotel. When we went down for dinner we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal, as it was explained to us, Beckets is a restaurant with a hotel not a hotel with restaurant. We will definitely stay again! Oh and the suite was fabulous too! No cooked breakfast. Plenty of food but I would have liked an Irish.

My family loved staying at Becketts hotel. The entire staff was very pleasant and always willing to help. I can not say enough great things about them. Thank you to all of you! I have a 12 and 13 year old and we always felt very safe! They kept the main door locked to all the rooms when it got late in the evening so Patrick (a very nice man who worked all night) would let us in. The rooms were beautiful! The breakfast was great! A perfect place to stay right outside of Dublin. The bus to Dublin is a quick walk down the street and a 20 min. Ride.

Heel attent.
