Score from 248 reviews Wonderful
The staff are very friendly and you knew they wanted you to have a good stay. They know Cobh well and gave a good background of the town and made some great suggestions on things to do. Rooms clean and a good size
No elevator. Hard to carry luggage up the stairs.
Will definitely be back
Nothing to dislike
The bar and view was nice and the restaurant and most of the staff were nice
There was no drawers in the room to put smalls into. There was very few television stations. The grouting in the wet room was very dirty. We were kept awake until 5 in the morning by a rowdy crowd either in the room facing us or in the kitchen not sure which.
The view from the Bar/Restaurant was lovely.Very quite room. My other have was running the Cork to Cobh race. Even though we'd checked out at eleven, they let us return to the room to have a shower. Great Irish welcome. Great Chinese Restaurant in House. You dont need to leave the hotel after you check in.
The people at the desk were so helpful. The room was very big, had everything it said it would.
The views over the bay.
The distant from the sea front and we had to climb a steep hill to return to the hotel.
Location was ok except for the hill we had to walk up to get to and from the train. Walking distance to main town. Beautiful church very close.
Being on the top of town.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. We were given a 2 room suite with private balcony which exceeded our expectations. The hotel was in an excellent position overlooking Cobh with great views of the cathedral and harbour. It was only 5 minutes walk into town and to the train station. Breakfast was good.
Really could not fault this hotel.
Great location plus pub and restaurant
Some steep hills!
Location Accommodation Food Friendly helpful staff Great bar Fantastic breakfasts
Views of harbour, ships. Proximity to heritage centre and other attractions even though we walked up steep hill! Most staff very helpful and friendly
Wifi intermittent unable to get more than just 4 Irish TV channels even with staff help
very helpful staff storage for bicycles upgrade from rooms to suite at no extra cost Chinese restaurant in hotel breakfast and view from table!
The suite was superb with great views just a short walk into Cobh
Staff were very friendly & helpful, including the bar staff. Hotel was lovely, very impressed with the welcome box of chocolates, nice gesture. I've already recommended the hotel to people and I'm looking forward to returning soon.
No complaints at all.
The rooms are very nice, and the staff is amazing, very helpful in all our questions.
Beautiful views (although our room did not have one) over a fabulous town.
Didn't have the key to the jewellery cabinet - husband possibly liked this! :)
Not a lot
We were a couple travelling with a 3yr od child, and had a deluxe twin with sea view reserved through booking.com for Saturday 2nd Aug 2014. I Spoke with the receptionist on wed 30th July and advised we were travelling with a child as when we made the booking we had not intended to bring her and asked was this ok, the receptionist advised that she would change us to a deluxe double with sea view and I asked was this suitable for a child she said yes. At 17.01pm on the sat I received an email from booking.com advising there was an issue with my cc, at 17.03pm I received a call from Kevin at Bella Vista, I apologise for the problem and asked him to go through the card details with me so I could rectify the issue. He told me my card was ok then and my room would be waiting. On arrival at 19.00pm we were told our original room was given away and they held a "deluxe" double non sea view room. I questioned why our original booking was not held and I was told we were lucky they even bothered to hold it as it was a busy bank holiday, I refuted it was always a bank holiday even when we booked, then we were told it was a health and safety concern that the deluxe double/twin sea view were not suitable for children. I asked why we were not told this when I spoke with Joanne on wed. Long story short the room we got, No 4 was far from deluxe. And yet they charged the same price! A window that did not lock properly, a torn bed cover, window opened out to back kitchen door where the noise from the kitchen (even with window closed was bad) smell of Chinese from the restaurant beside us. On complaint again that night about the room we were told they would give us a complimentary breakfast which we refuse as to be honest couldn't bare to stay there another minute. And here is the real worst part of the experience for us Kevin the owner/manager was incredibly rude in dealing with our email complaint, even lied to booking.
Had lovely big family room very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff very friendly. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
Had one person who's ceoliac in the family and there was only bread alternative offered at breakfast. St. Colman's cathedral across the way with bells ringing at all hours but not the hotels fault.
Walk up the hills
Friendly staff especially Kevin at reception. great view from our room. large room and comfy bed.
As usual we were in the furthest room from reception and up three flights of stairs, no lift and carting two heavy suitcases and hand luggage. this seems to happen in all our Booking.com accommodatiom bookings. is this because the rate may be a bit cheaper booking online.
Titanic museum, shops, restaurants, ocean views.
Street train guy showed up late morning (11am) and he told us he'd leave anywhere from 20m to an hour. Missed sightseeing the town because he was on his own time. maybe next time!
