They put us in the basement and the cold water was hot. The shower was too hot and there was no way to turn down the temperature because the cold water was actually hot water. Unless you do not mind burning yourself in the shower, I would not recommend it. There was no wifi available, even though it was advertised as wifi! The hotel was the ONLY disappointment of our trip. I do not recommend this hotel and would not be going back. :(
The only good thing was the location and that was it!
Superfriendly staff, excellent breakfast. Quite basic room, but clean and good size. Ok location.
The room was very spacious and clean. Bed was extremely comfy. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Great buffet style breakfast. Unreal location - right beside bus station!
Great location, within walking distance of the 3 arena and only around the corner from the shops.
There is no WiFi in our room. The hotel is located in a very noise area. The shower is difficult to regulate.
The breakfast is good.
Everything was just fine
Good service, nice pub and lovely breakfast
sqeaky floor boards
Location and facilities
Sorry to say that most of the staff appeared to be in another world - or dont speak english
Close to all city sights - tram stop - bus station 2 mins away -
Separate twin beds instead of a double bed, but staff aologised that was all they had then.
The clean and peaceful atmosphere. Telephone for easy, free access to front desk. A bath tub and shower in 1 coffee making facility
The location is great on one end of the Liffey behind custom house. All of the main attractions are nearby. The rooms are clean and beds comfy. Awesome breakfast, lots of choice.
We loved our room!!!
Stayed in room 211 could hear the noise of Trams running
Ideal place to stay only 10minutes walk to Temple Bar friendly Staff on reception and the bar
Strange internal layout leading to navigation difficulties.
No Irish hospitality. No Irish employees! Rude waitresses at restaurant who made us feel very rushed and unwelcome AND charged us more because we didn't book ahead. Computer service very slow which was frustrating because you pay by the minute and the printer didn't work!!!
The room was nice and clean.
beds could have been a little better
location, clean, and friendly
hotel is a bit tired needs to be updated and carpets replaced, we have stayed here a few times the price seems to have gone up but the standard has not.
hotel is very central, staff very friendly, good breakfast.
Television only had 4 channels
Room spacious and comfortable
Room 128 overlooked kitchen, noise from both staff and kitchen equipment. The floorboards above our room creaked endlessly, didn't help that the occupants of the room liked to constantly walk up and down their room. The shower was scalding, couldn't turn it down and maintenance man had no joy either. The cold tap in the bathroom also ran hot !
Beds were comfortable Staff were friendly
Very noisy at night
Great location for sightseeing
When I stayed in the Beresford Hotel in March 2013 I was very pleased with my stay and gave it a very good review. After my stay in April 2015 I’m rather embarrassed I ranked it so highly without realising what some fellow guests might have to face. For the recent stay I was given room 553, and that was a catalogue of issues. Firstly, although locating the room sounded simple - “take the lift to the first floor and follow the signs” was the instruction - but as I demonstrated to the person concerned, it was not that simple, with a major trek up and down levels (with 3 or 4 steps each time) until you reached an annex with a completely different ambience. The signage here was poor, such that I visited several blind alleys, not sure if I needed to take the lift or climb a few more stairs as the rooms were numbered completely illogically. When I finally found the room I wasn’t in the best of moods, but it wasn’t helped by the view being of two ducts and some kind of other structure - very grim. The desk looked like it may have been an “auction buy” that didn’t come with a chair, as the one provided was inappropriate with minimal legroom. The wifi did work, but was quite slow. The lack of soundproofing has been mentioned elsewhere, although I was fortunate that I only had one set of neighbours and they were very restrained - but I could hear them whenever they had a conversation. I tried to explain to one of the receptionists about my issue finding the room, but her lack of English meant I couldn’t make myself clear so I had to demonstrate the issues to the duty manager, who accepted the issues I demonstrated. As I said in my first review, the hotel is very convenient, but if you get room 553 there is no question of “nipping back to the room”, as its such a major trek to reach.
Breakfast buffet when included in room rate.
258 Euro for two nights in a doulbe room was rather expensive
location very close to the city center, great breakfast! bus stop (747 ariport bus) nearby!
Awkward to get to room carrying bag, as rooms are at back of hotel lots of corridor and stairs. Also my room was very noisy, both from neighbours and possibly boiler system.
Good ensuite room and comfortable bed.
