Each spacious room has lovely views of the river, mountains, and woodlands. There cannot be sweeter persons than Pedra and Padraig. They are perfect hosts doing their utmost to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. The setting of the house is beautiful. Wonderful walks are possible starting from the hotel and mountains, lakes and sea are all around, easily reachable by car. An ideal place to relax and breathe fresh air. The mattress of one of our beds (we were four people) could have been better.

The hospitality and added value were fantastic. I stayed five nights and was welcomed when I arrived and given a wealth of local knowledge to help me explore the area. I know the fishing is great in the area, on both the Caragh river and Caragh lake. For walkers it is on the Kerry way. I found some lovely places to eat in Glenbeigh and Killorglin and was not disappointed once. Nicks bar in Killorglin specialising in Steak and Seafood and Rumours in Glenbeigh is a lovely bistro. Excellent all round. Very slow WiFi but being in the middle of the country the service isn't very good anywhere that is so off the beaten track as Blackstones.

Location, location, location! And friendliness and warmth of Blackstone House's innkeepers Breda and Padraig! They are truly wonderful people who really make you feel at home. The setting is absolutely beautiful, especially if one goes for a walk around the area or just ones to sit quietly by the river. Set on a river with the moutains blanketing the skyline. And the breakfasts were generous, welll prepared and made to order! Not sure I would change a thing!

The owners Patrick and Breda were exceptional hosts, very warm and friendly, made our stay much more enjoyable. Breda makes the most delicious pancakes!! There was nothing about Blackstones House we didnt like, however the location was a bit far from the nearest town (Killorglin) approx 12k and the roads were very narrow with dangerous bends! If you are there to go hill-walking it would be the perfect location as Carrauntoohil is very close to the house.

Beautiful, quiet setting. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lovely breakfast. A little tricky to find, but not too bad!

Da das Blackstones House zum Zeitpunkt unserer Bunchung noch keine Bewertung bei Booking hatte, war es ja ein kleines Risiko es zu buchen. Haben uns aufgrund der Lage und des Preises entschieden. Aber alle Bedenken waren absolut unberechtigt! Breda und Padraig sind wundervolle Gastgeber. Zur Begrüßung bekamen wir gleich Tee und Muffins und auch sonst fühlteman sich rundum gut versorgt! Das Frühstück war auch außerordentlich lecker! Die Lage des Blackstones House ist wunderschön. Am Killarney Nationalpark und direkt am Fluß gelegen haben alle Zimmer Flußblick. Darüberhinaus sind sie sehr schön groß und sauber. Besonders für Rundreisende ist der im Zimmer befindliche Kühlschrank positiv zu erwähnen. Abends kann man sich gemütlich dann stets warmen Kamin setzen. Einfach traumhaft!Obwohl wir ursprünglich nur 2 Nächte gebucht hatten, haben wir verlängert, weil es uns so gut gefallen hat!!! Absolut zu empfehlen!!!

Wir hatten das Familienzimmer bekommen zu dritt. Das Haus liegt inmitten einer schönen Umgebung am Fluss, mit Blick auf die Berge. Sehr abgelegen. Zum nächsten Restaurant mussten wir 12 km weit fahren.

The very best of Irish hospitality. The meals were excellent, it was very comfortable and our landlady could not do enough for us. Very close and convenient to the mountains for walking but also close to Killarney and Killorglin. Would highly recommend it.
