Food Staff- very friendly View Location Rooms could of be of more better standard design wise, ie have more style not necessarily modern, but maybe traditional country looking that is the only thing that really lets it down a bit

Surrounding was OK and nice walk by the lake. Old, out to date facilities; street side rooms are noisy; leisure center was so old and smells a lot of chlorine; restaurant and bar are so big and uncosy, unfriendly; dinner in restaurant was terrible - fish was fresh but unfrozen, steak was uneatable. Realy disappointing hotel.

The informality of Irish staff is refreshing and projects a genuine countenance rather than the 'have a nice day' brigade. The breakfast was well presented and there was plenty. This hotel is punching one star above its comfortable weight. The level of expectancy generated by 4star rating was not quite satisfied. Also the long walk to the bedroom precluded the need to go to the gym, and the tv reminded me of the days I spent watching an oversized (not the screen) machine with my grandmother.

Location was lovely. The hotel was situated in its own extensive grounds with a large lake, which made for excellent walks before and after meals. Facilites were very good and meals were excellent. By no means a complaint - on the day we arrived the hotel was really busy - it was First Holy Communion day in Mullingar. Despite this the staff coped admirably with the large number of people.

convenient for our needs this visit. room was OK. shower was good. noisy, rowdy wedding reception going on, with most of the reception in the lobby as we tried to check in. room has definitely seen better days. phone did not work. front desk staff impervious to problems, we couldn't hear her, and she didn't seem to care! tried to get room service, but couldn't call cuz phone didn't work! towels are small and thin. terrible. no face cloths, and then signs everywhere that we would be charged for any missing towels! I would not stay here again!

Lovely setting and everything about the hotel appeared to be excellent. We attended a wedding elsewhere so did not dine in Bloomfield. Breakfast was of a high standard. All staff we interacted with were genuinely nice Taxi organised to take us to where we needed to get to. Definately would recommend tis hotel Nothing

Booked this last minute. Needed a break from reality very quick or I was going to explode. I couldn't have picked a nicer place. Easy to find. Staff friendly. Hotel fab and grounds were lovely to go for walk. I had three kids with me ages 1, 7 and 8. They had a ball the spotless clean pool and play park on site. Also as it was Easter break the bouncy castle was up for them and they went to kids club in evenings. The two girls (7&8) didn't want to leave they felt like princesses. And so did I. Thanks so much and will be staying again. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Breakfast was very good. The Staff were very friendly. We very much appreciated that our request to have our room available early so that we could prepare for an afternoon event, thanks Reception. Even though there was a party in bar downstairs, we did not hear it! We loved the lake views.

Lovely buffet breakfast in the morning. But in fairness it would not be worth staying just to get the breakfast. This is a 4* hotel one would have to question how they got 4 stars. The hotel is very drab and dated. We were staying at a wedding so had no choice but to stay. The food was poor. My partner and I had sirloin of beef which we could not chew. We took one look at the pool area and decided not to enter it.

The very friendly staff, from the reception desk to the waitresses and bar personnel. The location and especially the room (311, wonderful view). Not overpriced. The waitress in the restaurant who went the extra mile in helping us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We did not like the rather loud wedding crowd from Dublin who invaded the bar on Friday night and then on Saturday night we were made very unwelcome by another crowd from Dublin who bullied us from our seats so we retired early. Maybe just picked the wrong weekend.

Although we stayed in room 302 on the night of a wedding and there was quite a lot of noise from the bar below, we were tired and after sometime went to sleep. The receptionist told us next morning that she had tried to contact us before we arrived, but on checking she had the wrong mobile no. Our room was excellent and we would book it again, not only for the comfort but also for the view of the lake. We were very impressed with the receptionist's courtesy and when I said that my wife and my daughter might return for a four night break - Sun. - Thursday morning, we were offered a golden years package. This was very generous and they will take it up at a later date. Again thank you for your courtesy and kindness and we would certainly recommend Bloomfield House. Larry Ward. 041-6854161

the buzz of the crowd, the comfort, the food and the facility to find a quiet space for myself. I didn't make this reply before leaving because we use this hotel for our annual conference of De La Salle Headteachers organised by my colleague Patrick Collier.
