“ Spent two nights with my daughter - beautiful grounds to relax in - had dinner on one evening - great value and delicious steak! Was within a taxi drive to bettystown beach which was where we were visiting some relations. Staff lovely and friendly - room nice and comfortable - Will definetly stay again. ”

your staff were friendly and polite the cleaning staff woke us up at 7,30 by hovering and banging doors. they came into our room without knocking at 7.45.even with the do not disturb sign on the door we were on holiday and did not appreciate this intrusion of our privacy. was quite shocked. was going to stay another night but this stopped me and we moved on.

the old part of the house has character,at night there was candles put everywhere giving the lobby a real ambiance.it was very relaxing and seemed very popular with the older generation.staff were lovely and the food was excellent, even sent my compliments to the chef.rooms were clean, if just ever so slightly dated. very handy for Drogheda too.would go back in a heartbeat. very little to complain about really. no ashtrays at front door so butts everywhere but there is a smoking area which i found after. I know its a hotel but found drinks on the expensive side, pint of Guinness one sixty!

the pool area was nice but a little run down. the bar food was good. the service in the bar was exceptionally poor. There was plenty of staff walking around but avoiding any contact with the customers. It took us 20 mins to get our order taken(after asking 3 people) and took an hour to get the food.... bad service. This delay happened on both occasions were ordered food in the bar

It was cheap Very run down. Badly needs new carpets and chairs refurbished. Bar looks worn out, holes in some chairs marks on the carpet. The leisure centre also needs to be refurbished, dated and worn out. At breakfast got a dirty milk jug. Would make you worried about the hygiene in general.

The hotel and grounds are beautifully tucked away in a natural, wooded setting. We didn't feel like we were anywhere near a city. Although my husband and I were there for a business workshop, we had a relaxing stay and enjoyed walking the grounds in the evenings. As well, we enjoyed visiting some of the historical sites in the area. We requested a non-smoking room with our reservation, but when we first checked into our room, we could smell heavy cigarette smoke in the hallway. We said something to the front desk staff, but when we returned to our room in the evening it was worse and the smoke had heavily infiltrated our room. As I am highly allergic to the chemicals in cigarette smoke and become quite ill from it, I found this very distressing. We contacted the hotel staff and they moved us to another room. However, people were smoking across from our room there as well. We were kept up until 2am trying to resolve the issue. The front desk staff were very understanding and did their best to eventually resolve the issue. After that, the rest of our stay went smoothly. We stay in hotels quite often during our business travels about the Country and this was the first time we encountered trouble with the smoking inside and so near the rooms. It was highly unusual.

Breakfast (when it arrived) was well cooked, tasty and hot. The bar and reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Pretty grounds and a nice rural feel. Very slow service at breakfast. One morning it took 25 minutes to be served. Crockery was dirty - inside the milk jug was ingrained with old sour milk, stained cups and saucers. Bed was like a hammock - too soft and you rolled to the middle. Thankful there was a single bed for one of us to use. No staff on reception at night and the front door unlocked - our room was only metres away from the front door.

Price Room was dirty. The room was opposite the cleaners office and they woke us up from 7am talking continuously. The breakfast staff were forgetful and the breakfast routine seemed over complicated.

Loved the old period house, it felt warm And friendly. The staff could not do enough for us. Really friendly place. Rooms a bit dull in decor, but it served our needs. Kids did run a round, but thats the fault of the parents. We just told then to stop, And they did.

The food was excellent The noise was awful. There were kids from as young as 2yrs old running up and down the halls all evening until very late while their parents stayed drinking in the resisents bar until 5 am (so I was told buy he receptionist the next morning when I complained) and the same kids were running around the next morning at 7 am banging at their room doors. The parents are obviously a disgrace but why didn't the hotel staff put a stop to it? The staff had no consideration for the other hotel guests. Many guests complained as I did.
