With a swimming pool and gym, the historic Breaffy House Hotel and Spa is situated in 90 acres of woodland estate. Located just outside Castlebar, it is less than 5 minutes’ drive from the town centre. Guests can relax and unwind with a sauna, hot tub, and special water therapy features in the fitness centre and spa. Light and airy, the rooms have satellite TV channels and free tea/coffee facilities. All rooms also offer a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Free parking is available and West Knock Airport is 45 minutes' drive away. Mulberry Restaurant serves tasty and wholesome meals prepared with fresh, local produce and the bar has a good selection of whiskies. Good location and helpful staff but lacking a little on the management. Access to the pool was patchy and children not treated with respect by pool attendant. Cleaning in function room was of a poor standard though the hotel was very busy. Food on floor from previous night and cobwebs in particular.

The total relaxed atmosphere of the hotel and staff, the beautiful woodland surroundings, fab to look at even if you didnt want to take a walk. All the facilities you would need for a hotel stay, food was top class, rooms and en suite were big, warm and comfy, games room, pool and spa are was fantastic. The staff at this hotel are so friendly and nothing is too much bother for them. You feel like the only person there for the atrtention you receive. Will be returning for a longer stay. Big plus with this hotel is you dont have to leave the hotel at all as it has the lot.

The Leisure Centre alarm went off at about 4am and I was awake a lot after that. I tried to ring reception but got no reply. I suggest having a timer that the hotel full alarm is activated about 20 - 30 seconds after an area alarm in case there is a false alarm like that.

Hotel was fine food good Could not sleep all night with the noise of other guests .drunk... Running and fighting up and down the hallway. Over charged for flowers that were bouht in dunnestores.doubled the price.

We found that it needs a renovation inside in parts there was a cold feeling in the corridors and a musty smell also, our water was coming and going in our room in which we rang reception and was told there would be someone up we are still waiting, sauna was broken hardly no heat in the steam room the only thing we found good was the food.

Very good location and very friendly and helpful staff. Very close to Castlebar and easy commute to locations we wanted to visit: Swinford, Castlebar, Ballina and Kiltimagh. Breafy House is expensive for the family traveler but was within our affordability range thansk to Booking.com

There wasnt't alot we like about Breaffy House. The outside of hotel looks good and thats about it. My husband and I were disapointed with our stay at Breaffy House. The staff were friendly, however I had booked a NON-smoking, king room and the first room we got sent to was 2 single beds and our room wasnt made up, the 2nd room we got sent to was smelling of cigarette smokes. I then complained and asked for another room, this was much better and had a King Bed however the water kept turning off so showering and flushing the toilet was a difficult task.

Comfortable Room. Room was way too warm. The thermostat didnt seem to work even after we had turned it off. The corridors and hallways were very shabby, paint peeling from walls etc. It was admittedly Stephens Day but we wanted to eat early before going out. We requested a menu for the restaurant which I was informed (through a wall) wouldn't be ready until 6pm. Way too late so we left.

We stayed in Breaffy House for 2 nights, we really enjoyed it and the food was really nice. The location was really nice & was very close to Ashford House and Castlebar which is nice for shopping. The spa and leisure facilities at Breaffy were also fantastic.

We liked the rooms. The foiod was very poor- two people out of a group of 12 of us staying at the Hotel did not eat the Restaurant Meal which cost €27 per person. The breakfast hot food the next day was also poor.

My first trip to Ireland so didn't know what to expect. All the staff at Breaffy House Hotel are so friendly and so helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Food was excellent and my room was warm and comfortable. I was there on business and needed Wifi which was free through out the hotel!! A little bit old fashioned
