Staff was very helpful. Hotel was nice, clean and more "American" than many others we stayed on this trip, which made it more comfortable for us. My husband participated in an Irish Whiskey Tasting at the bar one night which he enjoyed. Restaurant is nice and they can serve large crowds quickly in the morning even if a bus tour is leaving! We had an early flight and needed breakfast before the standard time, so they allowed us to eat with a tour group that was checking out early also. The hotel is just outside one of the main shopping districts, so it's within walking distance of all the fun. However, the street it is on is not the nicest. We did not have any problems, but I was very uncomfortable walking back after dark. This was my biggest concern with this hotel. Even during the day it isn't a very nice street to walk on. Parking is also somewhat of an issue; although they have an arrangement with the garage across the street, sometimes it is very full and I noticed signs indicating it closes later at night.

I always stay at Brooks when I visit Dublin. I first stayed in 2008 when I was a guest of the Dublin Writers' Fesitval and I adored everything about the hotel. The atmosphere is perfect, old-fashioned, sensitively handled solicitude by the great staff. Conor on the front door is a darling, a King. And Eddie (Eduardo) on the front desk is also wonderful. It's so crucial for a hotel to have good people, and Brooks has great people. Also, the rooms are gorgeous and so too the food (the porridge on X-Mas morning was fabulous). I wish there was a hotel like Brooks in London, where I visit every few months. But no, there's only one Brooks. I am, always have Beemer, madly impressed. I feel so welcomed and so comfortable staying with you. Mj Hyland.

Location vis a vis city etc is good, staff were friendly and helpful (with exceptions as below), food was fine. On first stay, location of our room was poor, too close to an all-night car park, whose patrons insisted on singing (badly)- probably drunk- while returning to their cars as late as 3 or 4 am. This does not help with sleeping. Hot water system was a problem: temperature was stuck at a max of 40 degrees c, making a "hot" shower impossible, and staff did not respond to requests to attend to it. On second stay, a week later, had a far superior room with none of the above problems, but am still to find a place in Ireland where every electrical connection works! And, a request for a wake-up call for 4.45 am should be taken literally, not as meaning around 5 am.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Everything is within walking distance and there is a great pub on the corner not 5 mins away. The hotel is a bit pricey.

Excellent staff. Good comfortable rooms. Good food. Good quiet location. Covenient to shops and sights. Easy parking. It is a very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The concierge was one of the most helpful and welcoming we have met in a long time both in Ireland and europe. The bar staff were excelent and helpful and served food and drink with minimal fuss and cheerful disposition. We have placed Brooks on our shortlist for Dublin hotels and would have no problem recommending it to our friends. No complaints about the hotel. But parking is expensive if you arrive before 5.30pm.

The friendly staff, and it's very central - but not noisy - location in the heart of Dublin, less than 5 minutes walk from Grafton Street, Temple Bar and the bus stops for the city tour and airlink services. The restaurant is expensive - but then so are many in Dublin! This was probably the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Not a pin drop did we hear during the night....and that wasn't because we'd had too many pints of Guinness! Apart from the bar and restaurant prices being expensive (both of which we did not use) this hotel was great
