We chose Bunratty Manor, 1st, because of location to airport 10 mins. away and 2nd, exc. pricepoint at 99Euros. It was very neat, with prints of local color in hallways that added character, but something totally unexpected was the dinner and service. Our gold standard for dining. is Ballymaoloe House where we've stayed frequently, and have eaten in many restaurants with Ballymaloe trained chefs.
The food was equal to that, and when we asked if chef had trained at the school, we were told, no, he was self-taught!
Manor and restaurant are virtually run by family members, parents and siblings..all very knowledgeable, professional and sevice oriented.
There was a wedding party there while we stayed overnight, so we were put on 2nd floor in Room 11, and heard no sound whatsoever from 38 + guests. Can't recommend the Manor highly enough.
