Location was excellent
It is quite outdated and as soon as you enter it feels like it is at least 20/30 years back in time.
ambiance, clean, elegant, comfortable with wonderful staff, and right in the heart of, shopping culture and the arts. Great food served in bar, friendly not over powering staff. the hotel is busy enough to be interesting yet peaceful enough for a gentle retreat.
too good to leave, didn't explore Dublin.
There's something appealing about old style comfort without pretension nor five star attitude. Buswells is what it is, an Irish hotel in a city centre that is self confident and lets the guest get on with their own business. I really like that. It can feel like a home from home on a decent budget.
Staff friendly and helpful. Food reasonably priced and tasty.
Noise from the bar below. A late function kept me awake until after 1a.m.. When night staff made aware at midnight I was told that they would have a word with the group - anyway, last orders would be called in 15 minutes! There was no change in noise level. Suggest guests above bar check about future events before accepting those rooms if sleep is important to them.
Location ideal lovely old world charm
Bed too hard for my liking and pillow too soft but that's a personal thing
Buswells combines old-world class & luxury with modern facilities. I was delighted with the spaciousness of the room and the bed was ultra-comfortable. Aside from being very clean, the bathroom contained all the extras you would want. In addition, the food in both the bar and restaurant was excellent & reasonably priced, especially for Dublin. Finally, the staff were personable and very helpful.
A major downturn was the ladies room on the ground floor. On my visit, one stall was labeled "out of order" and another was quite disgusting. I was quite surprised that a hotel of this caliber didn't have them fixed by the next day.
we just found there was too much heat in the hotel.
Loved the location for us. The hotel looks and feels good and lastly the staff are very helpful.
Unfortunately we experienced no hot water to bathroom. This was found to be an airlock and was cleared the next morning. However it occurred again but as we were leaving i didn't mention it. I hope its no problem next March when we return again for my brothers wedding with other members of my family.
Location and friendly staff
Very comfortable great location
Breakfast charged extra on top of price for room.
Walking distance to city centre and lovely soft duvets
The beds were very comfortable Lovely decor in the hotel Very clean Staff were so pleasant
Excellent staff. Friendly and helpful in advising on where to eat within walking distance and where to shop within price range. Breakfast was a splendid array of foods. Baggage check-in next day was until late evening allowing Sunday to be spend free from luggage.
Only 1 member of staff working a busy and bustling bar area. Resulted in remarks from others who appeared to non-residents but regulars. After 8 the bar was relaxing, restful and an excellent environment in which to spend a Saturday night with friends.
Problem with the water in bathroom. These things happen. But it was dealt with in a very friendly efficient way by Patrick and all his staff. All the staff from reception to portering and everyone in between were friendly polite and professional a credit to your hotel. And a very nice girl served us dinner and breakfast too.
Had to wait to check in-so they gave us a free drink and a room up grade No milk for tea in the room but we never asked for any I am sure the would have if we had
This is the second time we have stayed here. Best hotel we have stayed at in Dublin and we are frequent visitors. Staff are very helpful and polite. Rooms are very comfortable and the Bar is great for a drink, bar meal, afternoon tea. Whilst we were there the fire alarm went off twice in the early hours. The next morning when we went for breakfast we were told that as an apology our breakfast was complementary. That's service.
We have no complaints. If you want a Spa Hotel with pool then no this is not the place for you. It is a comfortable, well run hotel.
You have not fully lived if you have not nestled near the fireplaces in the hotel lounges on a dark, damp November evening.
We like everything about it. Best of all, it is not a high -style ,modern, international hotel. It is itself… an old shoe. And very reasonably priced. We love it!
loved character of bar and foyer area.
bedroom v oldfashioned, socket in upside down on wall. huge piece of casing crudely gouged out around radiator. nearly died with heat. notice on bed said duvets heavy so we should have contacted reception for a sheet. our fault but should have had that option in room. a siren went off three times during night. in brief, neither of us slept a wink, told staff who apologised and gave us no reduction off bill. will not return, still exhausted!
Bed very comfy
I always try to stay here when in Dublin. Never had a bad experience. Old world Irish charm. It is Ireland after all.
Central location, old world style hotel, not clinical like larger modern hotels
The full lobby, lounge, restaurant and staff are very welcoming. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Ours had a deep soaking tub with shower, wonderful after a days journey. The hotel is located on a quiet street across from the National Museum of Ireland, just a couple of blocks from Stephen's Green, the pedestrian mall for shopping and Trinity College. Temple Bar is an easy walk through interesting streets.
The maze of narrow stair cases. This hotel was established long ago and has been updated regularly with renovations. It seems to be two buildings that have been joined for expansion. Depending on where your room is.... you may enter in the original section and then pass to the expanded area. Each have their own staircase and elevators making a bit of a maze. I recommend someone who requires an access room to call direct to make arrangements.
Your reception staff was extremely help . In fact i would say Outstanding!..Will definitely stay at Bushwell's again
Great location,lovely place
Cause it's a old hotel.our room was beside the lift and u can hear all the traffic outside the door
Hotel Location is perfect for a night in Dublin City. Hotel is lovely building and nice rooms etc... Bed comfortable.
Friendliness of lady at front desk on arrival was not great The room was too hot, heating was on too high for the weather outside so sleeping was affected.
