In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate.

We prefer small hotels with charm. Buswells fits all our criteria.
We had a front facing room that was noisy.
Location Friendliness and courtesy of staff Convenience of bar and restaurant within hotel Bus and Airport coach links within a few minutes walk
Bedroom faced a wall and was warm and stuffy
I loved everything about Buswells Hotel, and wouldn't stay anywhere else on future trips to Dublin. The restaurant offerings were excellent and the entire staff went above and beyond in all aspects. I also really enjoyed the area surrounding the restaurant where you could have tea and light fare at any time. A special shout out to Dee (front desk) and Junior (restaurant) Thank you for a fun and memorable visit.
I am very particular and there is nothing that I did not like. Kudos to all!
Location, value, charm, staff, breakfast
I felt like we went back in time comfortably. Beautiful hotel with great bar, accommodations, food, and staff. Met all of our expectations. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the free history museum right across the street as well as the Hop on Hop Off bus around Dublin. And great restaurants, Guinness tour, and pubs.
I liked everything!
Location Friendly staff
Paper-thin walls and floors Tiny single room Dark, old and dirty-looking furnishings and carpet in room
Excellent location, lovely room and really comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent
The location of this very clean comfortable hotel is excellent for touring around Dublin.Grest choice of menu in bar at very reasonable prices.
Cannot think of anything
Lovely traditional hotel. Loved the decor; lounge was just right for cozy conversation. Bar menu excellent. An easy walk to restaurants and attractions. Would definitely stay here again!
Location; decor, older style, & comfortable.
Noise from traffic at night.
every aspect of the week end break was excellent. Great breakfast, great service and location. All staff very helpful. Hotel was spotless.
The staff here are marvellous; whoever trains them is doing a great job as I couldn't have been looked after better. The room, whilst small, was clean and comfortable with all of the facilities you'd expect from a top class hotel. I'd definitely stay here again.
The thimble sized portion of baked beans at breakfast (although the Irish breakfast is very good) and the low level humming noise from downstairs that kept waking me up...I'm a light sleeper.
Loved the location. Charming hotel.
Dragging large luggage up the stairs. Some rooms have to elevator access.
Excellent location, close to shops, restaurants and museums. Pleasant and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Free wifi. Good breakfast and dining rooms.
After spending three days in Dublin at a hotel above a pub getting our music experience in, the tranquility of the Buswell was very welcome. The staff was very professional and the location was perfect. And, the Buswell was the only hotel we stayed at in Ireland that had small face towels (yea!).
Nothing, it was perfect.
Great place to stay - centrally located, next to the National Library, the Museum and the Parliament building, in Leinster House. Close to St Stephen's Green and the beautiful Georgian streets, including the house where WB Yeats lived. Lovely atmosphere - genuine, warm Dublin feel. Walking distance to all major sites, including Trinity College, the river Liffey, the lively Temple Bar area. Buswell's rooms are comfortable and stylish, with good showers and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. I would definitely stay again.
location for theatre, good and delicious breakfast, convenience to everything
I had no faults to report
The location is excellent, especially if you are using a coach tour, as the main coach pickup area is just down the block - so no taxi is needed. Also it is in the museum and shopping area and Trinity College is 10min walk from here. Beautiful parks are in this area too, primarily St. Stephan's Green. It's on a fairly quiet street as well.
Rooms facing onto the street can be slightly noisy, but it is generally a quiet area at night. The floors of the hotel are split level, so even if you use the elevator, you may need to navigate a few stairs with your luggage depending on where in the hallway your room is. This may be difficult for people with mobility issues.
The cheesesteak was wonderful!
The quality of the facilities, friendliness and professionalism of the staff
Room not as quiet as we would have liked. It was possible to hear the people in the next room, as well as plumbing noises from other rooms
rooms, location, food available all day, great breakfast, excellent staff. Although right in the heart of Dublin the hotel is on a very quiet Georgian Street.
Having to leave
Staff on reception can be too busy with just a couple of guests, always appeared to be one member on duty.
Was very happy with everything. Great hotel.Nothing negative.
Great beds. Nice local charm
Half of hotel updated last year. Our room still needed to be done, scheduled for this fall or next spring. Our carpets and bathroom tile somewhat worn, but still nice enough. I would stay here again next time.
Night porter not overly friendly
