A very good hotel. Great ambiance and a superb location.
Welcoming atmosphere, friendly but unobtrusive staff, feeling comfortable, be nice to just spend time relaxing in the hotel with a good book.
The staff are great, the bed very comfortable, liked the new water closets (shower) versus the bathtubs with a shower. This is a historic hotel in the best location in Dublin, right next to the national museum (and library), a short walk to St. Stephen's Green, close to the National Gallery and Merrion Square park, Grafton Street and not far from Templebar.
location and bar and lounge
Location, comfortable lounge/bar areas, friendly staff.
Room 205 has not been refurbished. I'm sure I read all rooms had been. The heating in the same room was poor. The other 3 rooms we had were far more comfortable and had been refurbished; 108, 115, 115.
we stay every year and absolutely enjoy the experience and atmosphere in your hotel. we'll be back
that we had to leave
Wonderful place to stay in Dublin. Great food, and the staff is so helpful. Special shout out to Annette for her Irish Coffee's!!!
The situation and the bar and staff
Staff polite and helpful. Great atmosphere in bar and public places. Good breakfast.Location perfect. An hotel " how they used to be"!
Rooms a little small, not much space for clothes, suitcases etc.
Love this shabby chic but if you want 5 star posh go somewhere else !
welcoming atmosphere very pleasant staff bar menu comfortable room excellent location lovely breakfast
Cosy atmosphere and comfortable room.
Very expensive breakfast.
Staff very pleasant and helpful and good bar food.
Picture quality very poor in our room.
Location was great
The bed wasn't great, it was a memory foam!!!! Personally I don't like!!!
Women on reception when leaving in the morning was very abrupt not friendly at all All the rest of the staff very helpful and pleasant
This was my third stay in the hotel this year. It suits my needs perfectly. Friendly helpful staff as usual. Location brilliant.
Location was excellent
It is quite outdated and as soon as you enter it feels like it is at least 20/30 years back in time.
ambiance, clean, elegant, comfortable with wonderful staff, and right in the heart of, shopping culture and the arts. Great food served in bar, friendly not over powering staff. the hotel is busy enough to be interesting yet peaceful enough for a gentle retreat.
too good to leave, didn't explore Dublin.
There's something appealing about old style comfort without pretension nor five star attitude. Buswells is what it is, an Irish hotel in a city centre that is self confident and lets the guest get on with their own business. I really like that. It can feel like a home from home on a decent budget.
Staff friendly and helpful. Food reasonably priced and tasty.
Noise from the bar below. A late function kept me awake until after 1a.m.. When night staff made aware at midnight I was told that they would have a word with the group - anyway, last orders would be called in 15 minutes! There was no change in noise level. Suggest guests above bar check about future events before accepting those rooms if sleep is important to them.
Location ideal lovely old world charm
Bed too hard for my liking and pillow too soft but that's a personal thing
Buswells combines old-world class & luxury with modern facilities. I was delighted with the spaciousness of the room and the bed was ultra-comfortable. Aside from being very clean, the bathroom contained all the extras you would want. In addition, the food in both the bar and restaurant was excellent & reasonably priced, especially for Dublin. Finally, the staff were personable and very helpful.
A major downturn was the ladies room on the ground floor. On my visit, one stall was labeled "out of order" and another was quite disgusting. I was quite surprised that a hotel of this caliber didn't have them fixed by the next day.
we just found there was too much heat in the hotel.
Loved the location for us. The hotel looks and feels good and lastly the staff are very helpful.
Unfortunately we experienced no hot water to bathroom. This was found to be an airlock and was cleared the next morning. However it occurred again but as we were leaving i didn't mention it. I hope its no problem next March when we return again for my brothers wedding with other members of my family.
