Friendly staff Cleanliness Comfort Good Food Social drinks
every thing.....Quaint hotel, fab sea food,,great staff!!!
could not fault it
The Butler's Arm's Hotel has old fashioned decor, would require updating, as I would not rate it a 4 * hotel. Food in bar only average.
Hotel needs maintenance
Location and the food
Old fashioned and dated
The staff were very friendly and helpful ,
The decor I thought was very dated,
A lovely hotel with a lovely view and setting
Some of the staff need more training
We had a lovely room but the best thing about it was the view. Right in the centre of town.
Nothing about the hotel but there was a charge of 1 Euro to go in to the local antique shop, so I didn't go in, even though I would probably have spent much more than that if I had gone in. Thought it was a bit Irish to charge to go in to a shop.
This a repeat of a family trip to the South West which we used to do most yrs with my parents, one of the aunts & uncles & one of the cousins - last time was 30 yrs ago & the Butler Arms was always the favourite - in the nicest of ways it felt like stepping back in time - amazing !
View. Food. Spacious suite.
Waited ages in the dining room
food, drink, location, view,and staff.
car park very full most evenings.
Staff. Food. Location. Quiet.
Get rid of the carpet...musty smell on entering hotel. No tea/coffee facilities in room!!!!! Advised staff re scribble on window visible when window steamed up.
We loved the old word charm of this hotel. The food is of a high quality. It is family run so the service is excellent with great attention to the comfort of the guests. The Fisherman's Bar has a great atmosphere and is obviously the hub of the town. I visited this hotel as a child and I remember it as being excellent and it still maintains the same standard.
The view...I had a great view of the sea. The bathroom was large and well lit. The fish I had in the restaurant was fantastic.
No tea and coffee in the room until requested and then we had filter coffee given in a bowl. The fish was so good in their restaurant I went back the second night. First they run out of a fish dish so I had what I had the night before. The restaurant was fairly full and clearly not expected. I received smaller portions of the fish dish than the night before. It was still delicious though. I didn't like Waterville as it seemed soulless. Not the fault of the hotel but it's the main reason I wouldn't recommend to a friend.
I liked the fact that on our arrival we were upgraded at no extra cost. We were put in a fantastic room with doors open to the garden. Must say it was a lovely stay, will be back again.
Hotel has loads of character. Staff are excellent, friendly and efficient. Food is also top quality, local and fresh. Good value too.
Everything about it, especially the lovely friendly staff.
There was nothing to dislike.
Pleasant staff, convenient location
No one to help with luggage, could not find lift so had to carry my bags up two flights of stairs Slightly musty smell in room
Nice welcoming staff
Breakfast was quite average
Staff were unbelievable.I could only get a twin room when booking. However I requested a double bed if possible. When we arrived we were upgraded to an executive king bedroom at no extra charge. The staff at check in were so genuine and nice. View from window of sea and mountain were spectaclar. Had the best steak ever and bread and butter pud delic. Highly recommend.
No Tea and coffee machine in the bedroom but when we expressed this with staff they delivered it to bedroom with pastries! Menu not very broad.
Torn curtains, dirty blankets. Very dated hotel. Should not to be four star!
Fabulous location, lovely ambience wonderful staff and excellent food
Blankets on the beds, duvets would be better
Incredibly Attentive Staff Great Location Wonderful food & drink Beautiful water view from room Free WiFi Great Price Spacious Room
Pillows and linens could be updated
In a sea of B&Bs it stands out as upper echelon. Vintage look and feel, nice history.
Pricey in the absolute. Pricey compared to amenities.
