Some of the furniture in our room, and especially in the front lounge were getting rather threadbare and worn, and the night staff was virtually useless. Cleaning services leave much to be desired. I found hair in the sink drain, and one of the complimentary lotions in the bathroom was half empty when we got there. Not great attention to detail. Breakfast was OK. I did the Benedict, and it was terrible, but the full Irish was pretty good. The building is a converted Victorian townhouse, and it was done well, but needs a facelift and a scrubbing. Also, the doors are quite heavy, so you get a lot of noise from neighbors going in and out.
We loved the location of the hotel, which is an easy walk into Dublin Center, and also right around the corner from Beggars Bush with some fantastic restaurants. Free parking was a huge plus. Upon arrival we had a lovely greeting from the staff, and she brought us tea to our room. High ceilings and good sized rooms.
