Everything. Great location, wonderful staff, good food. We had so much fun actually visiting the animals. It's one of the best places we've ever stayed. Excellent launching point for the Dingle Peninsula. It's easy to find should your GPS go out. There are signs to get there. We love it, highly recommend it.
Noreen is the consumate hostess (as is her son, whom we had the pleasure of chatting with), making us feel truly comfortable in her lovely home. Our room was large and sunny, very comfortable bed, with plenty of room to pack our bags for our flight home the next morning. This is one of the few B&Bs where we actually relaxed in the lounge -- it didn't feel like we were intruding on the family space -- especially as Noreen brought us tea and cake! As we were leaving very early in the am, we didn't plan on breakfast, but Noreen packed us a lovely snack-pack with home made scones, fruit, etc., to eat at the airport. Very close to Shannon airport, but as others have said, we would gladly stay here to tour the surrounding area, including the Cliffs of Moher. Although described as a farmhouse -- make no mistake -- this is an elegant home set back from the road on acres of beautiful land. What a wonderful find!!
Can't think of a thing!
We arrived late in the day and were greeted by a member of the family. They were gracious, warm and very helpful with our evening plans. The night was peaceful and restful ! Breakfast was a feast and the home made scones was delicious ! Their home was very tastefully furnished and the surroundings was simply beautiful ! Just as we had imagined our night at a Farmhouse would be !
The stay at Cahergal Farmhouse was perfect! Noreen and Michael are very gracious and friendly guests. Noreen made sure we were comfortable and well fed. Michael showed us all around the farm. They were the highlight of our 10 day trip to Ireland. Noreen made suggestions for day trips and places to eat. The farmhouse is well appointed and very comfortable. The other guests were interesting and entertaining also. We highly recommend the Cahergal Farmhouse to anyone staying near Shannon. Thank you again to Noreen and Michael!
Very helpful, friendly and accommodating host. We stayed in a beautiful, large room with bay window looking out onto the pastures where cows and horses grazed -----idyllic!
The Cahergal Farmhouse is one of the best B&B that we had the pleasure of visiting. Noreen was absolutely a fantastic host and her home made scones are just delicious. The rooms are big, very comfortable and absolutely clean. The price of stay is very reasonable and competitive. The house sits in a absolutely peaceful farmland. You are 45 minutes away from the breath - taking Cliffs of Mohr and just 15 minutes from the Shannon airport. This is a must stay place!! We wish we could have stay longer.
There is nothing not to like.
Peaceful. Comfortable/roomy rooms. Friendly and helpful family operation. We returned in 2014 after having also stayed in 2006. Close to Dromoland Castle for a lovely side trip.
A little difficult to find on narrow country road. Have your directions in hand.
Superb accommodation , in a stunning location good for exploring cliffs of Moher
Modern bathrooms, great breakfasts, lovely Irish hosts.
Hospitality was impeccable, we felt completely comfortable, relaxed, and the farm is so peaceful! We are already planning on returning to spend a week at Cahergal next year. After staying in B&B's close to cities, we loved that it was slightly remote, but had easy access.
That we only were able to spent 1 night
great hospitality, food and comfort with an elegant but warm and friendly atmosphere, look forward to returning and riding some time in the not too distant future
Lovely House The Owners were happy to make us tea but it would be convenient to have the opportunity to make our own the breakfast is very good and generally good hospitality.
no tea making facilities it is usual to have tea/coffee in room
Bit hard to find
Beautiful farmhouse!!! Very friendly hosts. Our room was huge (they said it was the nicest in the house). I can't remember the name of the room, but it had bay windows and a small sitting area. Short drive to many attractions and restaurants. Gorgeous property.
Wifi was pretty poor and it didn't work most of the time we were there.
Noreen is a true gem. She is very attentive to her guests, even providing a special treat for early departures to Shannon. Since we would miss breakfast, she had a bag of brown bread, scone, butter and marmelade on the desk for us to take along in the morning. I have stayed four times on my last night in Ireland and have always been delighted with the accomodation.
Very clean, nicely decorated home, comfortable with great surroundings inside and outside.
Room was a bit small, difficult to move around with a couple of bags also in the room.
Everything was great. Our flight was very early, well before breakfast, we were given scones to take with us and cereal and coffee before we left. Wonderful
The lady of the house is very nice. Very welcoming and cup of tea on arrival was lovely touch! Good food.
Quite hard to find. Needs Better directions on website. Decor is a bit dated.
The farm land, peaceful...
Our room was pretty small
After traveling for 2 weeks thru Ireland, it was so wonderful and relaxing to spend the last evening at this peaceful and beautiful farmhouse. The owners were very friendly and the breakfast was the best of all the places we stayed. Homemade jams, scones, etc. we were within 10 minutes of the Shannon airport, so definitely ideal if leaving from Shannon.
Wifi only worked downstairs and even at that it was spotty.
The location is quiet, farm setting, beautiful country, great hosts, friendly guests.
That we could only stay one night, because we had to fly home the next day.
Beautiful setting Nice big family room Animals Quiet Good breakfast
Wifi did not work at all Extra fee for a child
Perfect place to stay in the area for a few days. Family-like atmosphere and nice and casual.
The setting was idyllic and the hosts were very hospitable.
