Location is excellent and with amazing view for the ocean , we got a room facing the road then we had a really nice time, they don't have breakfast but that is ok , because we can had your own food and your own time, if you woke up 04:00 a.m we can do you coffe.
i couldn't enjoy the pub because i can't drink but no problem soon i will back.
Location is 2nd to none, a warm welcome greets you and stays with you throughout your stay. Fabulous value for money, relaxed and if you haven't stayed here yet ...... What are you waiting for??!
We stayed in Caitin's during a recent trip of the Ring of Kerry and the accommodation was one of the highlights of the trip. We were welcomed by warmth and the smell of candles burning and a fire lighting and the owner who was so helpful and friendly. He carried my bags to the room which was spotless and so comfortable. It was home away from home! They also have a little bar which is so cosy and we enjoyed a pint and a chat with the owner and locals about the local attractions to visit and he gave us a map which was hugely helpful and led to a great day of sight seeing! The accommodation overlooks the Atlantic and there is a lovely kitchen and living room area. The property is sold as a hostel and b&b but was far nicer than the four star hotel we stayed in Killarney the night before. I hope to come back here someday and highly recommend the accomodation to anyone looking for great accommodation at a great price that exceeds all expectations!
For the price it was excellent, clean, cheep and cheerful.
For the price I couldnt complain, but the furniture was a bit basic and 70's style.
Wery poor breakfast.
We were made to feel most welcome by this family run business. The owners were friendly and helpful.
Very affordable price, breakfast included, the pub downstairs
Stale odour in our room, noisy main road right under windows caused our poor sleep
The location was nice. A view to the Atlantic Sea (though we had a room with the window to the mountain side). Nice people.
Breakfast could be better. Wifi only functions in the pub.
Welcoming and economical might be the best way to describe this place. Staff very personable and helpful. Rooms are fine, functional. Views really good if you get right one. Would highly recomened given the price. Didn't get to enjoy the small bar - which has a pool table - but looked like good atmosphere between guests and locals. Next time I visit the area, I'd be pencilling this place in for a revisit.
Bit isolated. I booked this place off my phone and the pic made it look like it was on the sea. It's not. Did get a swim in though - there's a small harbour (at Kells) about two miles away which is cool.
Jack treated us like old friends. He was helpful and welcoming. The apartment was new and fully self catering. Great value and a wonderful place to view Kerry from. Would be back again for sure.
Positioned on Ring of kerry with views of water. Our room had verandah with water view. Pub downstairs for late night drink, before bed.
Thought there would be food served at night and music in pub...?
Very friendly & helpful staff, room number 1 has an absolute stunning view to the dingle peninsula
We knew this before (so we didn't mind) but to help other travelers: You definitely need a car as Caitin's is located outside of town and we wouldn't recommend walking on the Kerry way. But with a car it is a very good location to get around. :-)
Great location for using as a base
the athmosfere is very welcoming the sceanery is breathtaking just wonderful
bedroom very small no wardrobe
Good location and good value.
The owner was there but never greated us. The food in the bar is very poor. There were boxes everywhere. A bit all over the place and not well run. Could be a gold mine.
view from our window was great, very clean room, very nice owners.
Accommodation clean and functional. Great view from room. Good options if walking or cycling in the area.
Noise. Sing song in bar on Friday night at 1am, I could have sung along in bed. There is no insulation between bar and bedrooms and between each room. The fire alarm went of during the night on Sunday night.
We spent a few nights in the apartment and had a great time. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The view is amazing and the location is great for seeing the ring. I would also highly recommend having dinner in the pub. The food is great and the staff hospitable. 10 out of 10
The view from the room is amazing, the room was nice and clean and the staff really friendly.
It is not close to any town, so you cannot really go anywhere without a car. the breakfast was poor and the dinner menu bit pricy
scenic area with lots to do locally
Nice location with bay view. Quite good place given the price.
Strange smell in the room. No towels provided. Shower could work better. Don't rely on a breakfast too much.
Excellent location, beautiful views, friendly helpful staff, we miss this place and I hope that we'll come back yet. we recommend:)
The location was good
The internet never worked once, and was a bit pricey for being a hostel.
The Golden family was so welcoming and kind, had great suggestions for what to do in the Ring of Kerry, and also for food, shopping, and hikes in the area. If I ever have the chance to go back to this beautiful place, I will definitely stay here!
Very friendly and helpful host - even gave us a lift up to a point on the Kerry Way so we could do a circular walk.
