Carlton Hotel Kinsale  

Good location just outside Kinsale. Fantastic view from our room. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and gym facilities were very good. We have a child and there was a childrens pool which was great.

The bed was not comfortable for me or my partner. We both experienced back pain since the trip. They seemed to be under-staffed in the restaurant. Service was quite slow. I would not recommend the hotel solely based on the comfort of the bed I had. I could happily live with any other minor issues that we had.

A lovely well designed hotel with great staff and lovely fellow guests . it has an away from it all athmosphere yet is also less than 20 minutes from cork..

I have nothing negative to say about this lovely hotel..this was my second stay there and it will see me here again...

Rooms very disappointing dark and small linen on the bed poor quality - the worst I have come across it needs replacing with better quality linen- it does not even feel clean Dining room and bar very disappointing does not compare to the beautiful reception area and views.- needs up grading - far too dark I would not even consider staying there again and I don't think it deserves 4 stars - misleading if anything.

We were a little early arriving and so left our luggage behind the desk.We arrived back to the desk at about 2.30 and enquired if there were any rooms ready ad we had spa treatments booked at 3.00pm.The man behind the desk was not only helpful but nasty and gave me a little lecture about checking in times and said that if he did not have rooms ready then there was nothing he could do about it.I Do not need a lecture from someone who is supposed to make my stay the best it could be.The spa and the spa staff were good.The pool was not available on the sat when we wanted to use it.The service in the bar was poor and when we asked for a biscuit someone who needed to take a tablet we were told crisps were all they had and charged 2 euro for a bowl.LAST But not least we were overcharged.The nite cost me800 euro the worst value I have ever come across oh and we had to be out by twelve or you were again charged.I Have never come across o hotel where you can't check ibm till three but not you have to check out at 12

Reasonable rates and very friendly/helpful staff. Nice view from the rooms and nice grounds surrounding the hotel, good pool facilities.

We booked a double room but were given two twin beds pushed together, not ideal for a romantic weekend! There was little parking available although there was a large function on in the hotel at the time and this accounted for the lack of parking (Forgiveable). This was my second time staying here with my girlfriend and we got breakfast included the first time we stayed, we had to pay extra for it this time so we decided to have breakfast in Kinsale (This turned out to be a cheaper and better option, the breakfast was disappointing when I stayed the first time, cheap sausage and bacon although a decent selection of cereal and juice etc)

Beautiful grounds

The inside of the windows in my room were filthy and contained dead flies, arrmchair was dirty. Very disappointing.

Most amazing views from this modernly styled hotel. Great for a weekend away.

Lovely hotel but too far into town, which was a pain but night time shuttle service mad up for it ,sort of.......

Peaceful and quiet. Very good breakfast.

We were placed in a room that can open to family en/suite. Other room was occupied and this lack of privacy was unfair to both rooms. Poor choice of background music at mealtimes.
