The staff is wonderful, the inn is beautiful and the food at the restaurant is marvelous. This is the perfect spot for a first night before starting an Irish holiday or the last night to savor your trip. The location is close to the airport, yet quiet and restful. The restaurant is not to be missed!

Minor stuff: It was warm and although we could open our windows for a lovely breeze and fresh air, our bed only had a comforter for a cover; there was no top sheet (a European custom). For sleeping that night, we would hav appreciated a top sheet. Also, the floor of the shower needed a mat to prevent slipping in the shower. The BIG Problem: We dined at the inn that nigh and were seated with two other traveling couples in the beautiful conservatory. Then, 12 older (late 60's - 70's) American men (we are Americans) on the last night of a a golf trip were seated with us. They were LOUD, vulgar and never shut up. We asked to be moved as did another couple to a lovely dining room, without the lovely view and sunset. Separate accommodations should have been made for this raucous group.

Best pancakes I have ever had! Gillian is so kind. Room was lovely. Grounds are beautiful! Felt like I was at home. Took home some nice home made jams. I truly loved this place!

The water in my room smelled a little odd. Okay to shower in, I was just not too keen on drinking it. Also, while it is absolutely lovely that Gillian keeps the fire going for her guests in the evening, the lounge area started to smell a bit smokey. Again, not a big deal. With a building this old, you expect a few quirks. Other than that, this place is so charming, the food is delicious and the owners are amazing..

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely - good number of options on the menu for vegetarians. Quiet, relaxing location.

Bed was uncomfortable - mattress was too hard.

Surprisingly rural and quiet setting within a ten minute drive to Shannon Airport. This 1799 manor home is fully restored, with a superb restaurant. Husband and wife are both master innkeepers and highly trained chefs.

a bit challenging to find after dark.

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful during our 3 day stay. It is very close to Shannon Airport but plane noise is not an issue. The restaurant meals are fantastic!! We loved it all - thanks Gillian!!

One mattress in our room was a bit hard so we used the other bed.

Friendliness and generosity of the staff. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was relaxing. Food was great -- which was a bit of a surprise to me. This should be added to their web page.

We loved this guest house. The antique furnishings were lovely, parlors comfortable, bar well-stocked. There was a nice shady courtyard to sit in on the hot day we were there, very pleasant. Our room was very clean, it was an unusual heat-wave, and Gillian scrambled to get us a fan, which was most appreciated, very accommodating. We had a gourmet dinner, I would highly recommend this to someone who is flying in or out of Shannon as it is an easy 10 minutes from the airport, and a good place to recooperate after a long flight or trip. Gillian's husband is a wonderful chef, we had a lovely romantic dinner and the Irish breakfast was perfect. I had a porridge that I will never forget with whiskey and cream - yum! The staff - Maeve in particular - were so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They made our stay there a lifetime memory, we will be back the next time we go to Ireland, for sure!

The rural setting so close to a major airport was a surprise and a delight. The owners were on hand to welcome us and to offer tea and biscuits and this friendly response was echoed by other staff. The food was of a high standard and served in a conservatory with beautiful views.

    There was nothing to dislike.
