My friend & I loved everything about the hotel, sheer luxury at an affordable price. The food was excellent. The spa was brilliant. The staff were very nice & helpful. The bedroom was lovely, very contemporary with really comfortable beds. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The old & new aspects of the hotel fit very well together. One small quibble, a few biscuits with the tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice.

the breakfast was very nice I found the room insufferably warm and the air conditioning fan too loud so I had to turn it off. Subsequently, I spent the night trying to breathe in fresh air through the open window.

Staff were lovely, bedroom lovely spotless clean and very comfortable. Had a bit of a wait in the restraunt for my main course had to send it back my boyfriend was finished his food by the time mine came back and we were then waiting over twenty minutes for desert. Restraunt staff were lovely and we got two glasses of prosecco for all the wait. Also hotel were unaware of the deal we booked off booking.com so had to forward conformation emails over to them.

Great location, fabulous surroundings, extremely helpful and pleasant staff, top quality in every aspect Dinner menu a la carte was pricey - could perhaps do with a table d'hote menu option Shower cubicle design was strangely off - always allowed water into the bathroom when opened after showering!

To tell the truth I had a bad stay from the beginning, I booked a suite to stay which had been double booked and ended up in a standard room. Then my partner had ordered a steak well done and came out medium rare. Was giving a free bottle wine which was then put on the bill. In the end I was giving the chance to get a free upgrade on my next say. Which will never happen. Bar staff not very Friendly either

Quality and staff apperance.nice to be lookeb after by true professionals who know the industry and the roles 10 out of 10 For a top hotel food is key, the menu in the linden tree restaurant was not just average eg. Crispy confit duck was not crispy but was tasty, chicken main was bland, halibut was top class but dessert you could tell were bought in (good quality) but just needs personal touch to end a good meal. Overall food was good but could be better for money paid.

I was terribly disappointed with my visit to carton house. When we first arrived at 2.30 our room was not ready. No valet parking Dirty lobby floors Dinner was not up to standard Walk to hotel room was approx ten min walk from lobby. Small bar, guests drank mainly in hotel lobby which was freezing!! Completely overpriced.

The house part of the hotel is a wonderful resource, the part dealing with the parliament on College Green is especially interesting. The extensive grounds, the trees and the lake are delightful. The dining room has lovely food and beautiful views. Reception staff were very helpful in arranging a change of room as we thought the first room too far from the house. A plate of fruit scones was the only confectionery available for mid-morning coffee which is provided from the bar and served in a seating area opposite the entrance that is more thoroughfare than room.

The comfort and facilities at Carton House are second to none. We stayed in the old section of the house which was superb. Full of charm and elegance. We were there mid-week so breakfast was only served until 10am so it was hard to get out of the big comfy bed in time.

We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite in the old house. While the regular rooms are wonderful, this was amazing. We wished we could just stay in the room all the time! The beds and linens are extremely comfortable in both kinds of rooms. But our bathroom was huge was double sinks and a very large bath tub. We ate in both restaurants, the informal Coach House and the fancier Linden Tree. The food in both is excellent. The decor in the hotel is contemporary and somewhat minimalist which makes for an interesting and comfortable contrast with the Palladian luxury of the original big house. The hotel lacks the kind of formality that many big house or castle hotels in Ireland have. The public can wander through the museum-like rooms and many people around the place are athletes and golfers. Yet youcan also have a romantic getaway there. It's both comfortable and luxurious. I also like that there's a nice walk through the lawns to the village of Maynooth, so you can feel away from it all at the hotel but also have the town close by if you want to get out and about without using a car. The proximity to Dublin airport is also extremely helpful. Nothing this time. Last year we had some small complaints about treatment in the restaurant but everything was perfect this year.
