The location was perfect, with plenty of opportunity for leisurely walks. All the staff from reception to the restaurant staff were very friendly and obviously were very proud of where they worked
I dont like showers over baths, especially when the baths are very high, but I understand that there has to be comprimises when the building is old
House character excellent lovely area Staff friendly Huge potential to be a top hotel
Unable to shower both times Shower system completely broken zero mixer taps, tap heads broken on hot and cold on bath. No shower curtain or door? Bathroom drowned Breakfast 3 star not 4 star some of the items very poor quality
I just stayed here for one night as I was going to a wedding in the area - absolutely loved this place! The staff were so nice and it has a very special country house atmosphere - lovely gardens, very clean and the reception rooms are beautiful. Will definitely be back!
rooms were nice and the gardens were lovely.
bar was very small and dark.
The staff tried to be helpful but the whole experience was not up to the standard of other similarly priced stays in Ireland.
There was no hot water when we arrived and it was unclear why that was but we needed to report it. Our room looked out onto the busy entrance to the hotel at ground level so people could see straight in. The breakfast choice was poor and service slow as there was only one waitress. Our bathroom sink was very badly cracked and had been for for some time.
BIG ROOM,AND A GREAT BREAKFAST
Not clean. Mold in shower and shower head did not work. OVER PRICED!
Denise the bar tender was an absolute delight and not only got the chef to stay later to prepare a meal for us as we were late, but gave a history lesson about Guiness.
The room was only ok, at least in the section we were staying.
Good access and car park, foood excellent, and rooms lovely.
Great location in centre of town. Staff very helpful. Loved the sense of history to the Hotel.
The staff was extremely attentive and solicitous. Late check out. Charming building and nice gardens.
Beautiful building and fantastic location with helpful pleasant staff. Great breakfast.
Fabric looking tired and firmest bed I have slept on for years. Limited Wi-Fi access.
After letting the hotel know it was our anniversary we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, staff helpful and attentive. Will be staying here again
The location of this charming historic hotel was excellent - right in the center of the town with easy parking facility - access through the garden to the Rock of Cashel which is stunning along with magnificent country views. Quaint, quirkey and unique - was looking for possible sightings of ghosts but none!!! Enjoy a guinness or two outside in the sunshine (yes sunshine in Ireland) just admiring the beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and the cooked service was served straight from the kitchen to the table and not kept warm on hot plates - you can't beat Irish bacon, bread etc...forget the diet for a day or two....yummy
Not much except I hate those awful hairdryers in the bathroom with very little power.. Could do with a lick of paint here and there but then old buildings are always needing work done - just adds to the charm.
Very nice and helpful staff. Cozy restaurant, good food without being star-prone. Nice bar.
Needs a bit of refurbishing. Heating had to be set in function again by vigorous action from staff - took some time...
Large rooms, lovely grounds
No shades on windows. Mediocre shower - poor water pressure. Badly in need of maintenance - peeling paint on all windows. Not many electrical outlets
Price, too high Compared with other similar facilities in Ireland
The bar staff were excellent, good value bar food
The bed was not as good quality as would be expected for the price. Lots of noise from room above as floor very creaky ( mews room). WiFi did not work in the room
Simply put this is a tired hotel and is not four star.
We had a family celebration at the Cashel Palace and the hotel staff were just lovely, and did everything to make it comfortable and special. They upgraded one of our rooms because they had a suite free (we had booked a total of 6 rooms with them) and that was a lovely touch.
I was delighted to see that they had managed to clean up the garden after terrible storm damage suffered over the winter - it would be great if they could get the grand fountain working again; it would really be a great finishing touch to the lovely grounds.
Location and ambiance were great. Although right in downtown it was very quiet.
The rooms were a little tired. Bedspread was dingy, there was black mould around some tiles in the bath tub area.
Loved the location and the history of the hotel. Staff was friendly and enjoyed the fire in the fireplace.
Staying in the mews was sort of institutional and overpriced. Also we could not control our heat very well. The reception area had a strong wood smoke odor. There was no wifi in the room.
Wonderful staff...warm and gracious from the minute I arrived to the moment I left. Of course beautiful rooms and good food.
That I was only there one night.
Comfortable, atmospheric, creaky old world charm and well located centrally. Staff all very helpful and personable. Food was good. Free parking. Free newspaper at your door. (We got a free upgrade so stayed an extra night)
A few small things could work further wonders for this 4☆hotel. Some fruit choices for breakfast, shower hats in the bathroom, tea in the room, enhanced wifi.
Remarkable building an grounds surrounding.
Receptionist was rude, were not given room that was originally booked an charged £20 more when checking in.of the two nights we booked we only stayed one,and were offered no refund.we were attending business with the o,Brian family of whom you would be familiar with,an they found us alternative accommodation we traveled from the UK expecting a better reception than what we received. Kind regards Peter redmond
