stayed ina loft in car park
Staff were very natural and friendly. Receptionist was very knowledgeable about the hotel history and they went out of their way to show you stuff, even after checking out. I loved the way the building was preserved with some sort of metal beam across the ceiling disguised with wood panelling
Location. Large room. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel really needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to a reasonable standard. Photos look more impressive on website than in reality. Really disappointed especially when paying top money. Water in shower and handbasin stopped flowing several times.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant and bar was excellent
Some of the decor in the communal areas could do with some investment
Great atmosphere....lovely rooms....and a very friendly staff...in a convenient location...what more can you want?
Bed was a little hard
Location Food - Dinner was very Good ..Breakfast was excellent
Room Size for what we paid The Shower Cost
Our room was spacious and had a great view of the Rock of Cashel and of the hotel grounds. The bed was comfortable and we slept really well. In the morning, breakfast was delicious and unhurried.
It would be unfair to criticise the Palace for not being a sleek, modern hotel. This is an old, elegant Irish country house who welcomes you like an old Irish auntie with charm and generosity.
Friendly booking in at reception Great food in the bar, served by totally professional friendly colleagues. Rooms are warm, comfortable and clean Bathroom was spotless
No kettle or tea coffee making facility in the room
Beautiful historical hotel. Very comfortable.
This is a magical hotel. It was our first night in Ireland so it set the scene for a lovely vacation. Ended up being one of the highlights of the whole trip. I will always remember this hotel, the beautiful garden, the wonderful food, and the nice staff. I can't thank them enough.
The king size bed good breakfasti
I would have liked to stay in main hotel for the money I paid not in the lodge
The grounds and proximity to the ruins and town area was great. It is always interesting to stay in a palace.
We stayed in the "Mews" (annex), whatever that is. Locking in and out was annoying.
Character of the place, friendly staff
Some music noise from the town on Saturday night but not enough to disturb sleep
What a historic Hotel. You could not ask for a better location(center city & the Rock of Cashel in your back yard.
When making the booking , I presumed that I would be taking a room in the main building itself. Instead the room was in an adjacent building. This wasn't stated when booking. The room was still comfortable and clean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was fabulous and the location brilliant. I would definitely stay here again
The location was excellent, close to shops and the Rock of Cashel. The charm of the Bishop Castle is still lingering on the main floors.
The room on the second floor was very small. The smoke from the main floor fireplace was felt even in our room. The lobby and main floor lounge had outdated and badly maintained furniture, with lots of greasy spots. The ceiling paint in our room and in the main floor lounge and lobby was peeling off at many places.
We liked the history, the decor, and the perfect location.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent cuisine made you want to try the whole menu. Beautiful garden and so central location.
The location was perfect, with plenty of opportunity for leisurely walks. All the staff from reception to the restaurant staff were very friendly and obviously were very proud of where they worked
I dont like showers over baths, especially when the baths are very high, but I understand that there has to be comprimises when the building is old
House character excellent lovely area Staff friendly Huge potential to be a top hotel
Unable to shower both times Shower system completely broken zero mixer taps, tap heads broken on hot and cold on bath. No shower curtain or door? Bathroom drowned Breakfast 3 star not 4 star some of the items very poor quality
Shower didnt work..no water..went off during shower didnt come back on..plumbing a joke..ancient.
I just stayed here for one night as I was going to a wedding in the area - absolutely loved this place! The staff were so nice and it has a very special country house atmosphere - lovely gardens, very clean and the reception rooms are beautiful. Will definitely be back!
rooms were nice and the gardens were lovely.
bar was very small and dark.
