Castle Dargan Hotel  

Used the hotel to break up a journey to Galway. I stayed on a Thursday night so it was very quiet but great facilities and excellent if you enjoy golfing as well as a quiet location that is only 10mins from the bright lights of Sligo.

Comfortable luxury ,helpful staff

Before booking, I phoned telling the receptionist I was considering booking b/b on the net asking if the jacuzzi was extra she said no.when we stayed it was closed 5 ish and when I enquired when it opened in the morning was informed our booking.com booking did not include this.

I stayed in the vintage house part of the hotel and loved it! The slipper bath was wonderful!

The staff were extremely helpful and made a special weekend even more special. We asked about special offers for a proposal and they upgraded us to a suite free of charge. The grounds look stunning and the spa staff are very friendly. The food is excellent as are the dining areas in the bar and restaurant.

The food was delicious however the wait time was quite long.

The grounds and courtyard give a pleasant welcoming image when driving up the driveway. The old loung \ study eminates an historical period which creates an athmosphere of comfort and relaxation for the visitor. The staff, from the reception to loung\dining personnel were helpful pleasant and showed an interest and pride in carring out thier duties. The spa facilities were comfortable and well designed and the view of the golf course created the right athmosphere to relax and enjoy the time spent there.

Not having a swimming pool, disencourages visitors staying longer in the spa facility and in the hotel, due to bad weather conditions this facility would be an added bonus and activity if not a golf player. The shower in the bedrooms, the shower head is not of great standard, an improved spa shower would greatly improve the ability to shower in comfort.

We loved the location of Castle Dargan Hotel. We feel we have found a real gem and will definitely stay here again. The room was beautiful very modern and had a beautiful view of the countryside. It had a very relaxing atmosphere. We had a fabulous early bird meal and a wonderful breakfast. All the staff we met were very nice and friendly. Next time I will stay longer.

I stayed here with my girlfriend as I was attending lectures in Sligo IT. The room was fabulous and the staff were ver friendly. We ate in the Middleton Bar which has lovely views overlooking the golf course. The food was gorgeous and the service was excellent. All in all the hotel was superb, I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Sligo.

I had played golf there a few years ago and enjoyed the course.Therefore my wife and I decided to stay and play recently. The rates for a 2 night stay were very reasonable. Unfortunately the course was very muddy after heavy rain. We stayed in the suites not the main hotel. Our suite was very spacious but the lounge area is very Spartan and the sofas are very uncomfortable. Some blinds were missing so privacy was a problem. On the plus side, the dining was very good and the staff were very pleasant. I would stay again but ask for a room in the main hotel. Sligo is a beautiful area.

Only the poorly appointed suites. Please get new furniture, a few blinds and some cushions.

First class facility in beautiful setting. Great value for the money. Highly recommend to anyone. Best place we stayed during our two weeks in the uk and Ireland.

The hotel was absolutely fabulous, beautiful scenery, great if you like golf. Breakfast was amazing, something to suit everyone, nothing too much trouble for the staff either. 10 kilometres fron Sligo town centre (a car is essential) definately go back and would highly reccomend.
