Good to be so close to the town, and national park. Car parking was a bonus as well. Breakfast was very filling and well cooked.
Nothing to not like!
There were 6 of us staying in The Castle Lodge last Saturday night and everything, from the staff to the location were excellent and all of us said we would definitely book in here again!
On a really cold night in January it was the perfect place to stay. Convenient to town and so very warm & comfortable. I didn't avail of breakfast as it wasn't included in my package.
Everything. ..The rooms were great...A lovely breakfast and Anne Marie was so welcoming and helpful to us!!
The only good thing about this place is the it was a five minute walk from the town.
Rude staff.. Dust in all rooms.. Stains on all carpets.. All rooms need to be up dated.. Not enough toiletries in a triple room (one toilet roll) also paid for breakfast but where told on arival that it wasn't included.
The atmosphere at Castle Lodge was fantastic, we felt right at home. The staff were lovely and very helpful as well. 10/10 recommend! Thank you for a lovely stay :)
Location was excellent. Very good facilities and good value for the price.
Avoid a ground floor room if possible, checkout is 11am which is a bit early so there is lots of noise from 10am. Also the doors open straight into the view of the room so not very private etc. Most of this wouldn't be that important to the average guest though.
Location was very good and room was quite spacious warm and comfortable, staff were friendly.
The bathroom was a little dated, but functional. Noise was a big issue, this is not unusual in older facilities - but when you can hear the person in the next room snoring and it sounds like it is right next to you that is a problem. Navigating stairs with luggage may prove problematic for some people.
Friendly staff with a warm welcome. Facilities excellent with a fantastic Irish breakfast to set you for exploring Killarney and to explore the Ring of Kerry! A wonderful spent in a great location to see in 2015!
Very lovely B&B. Reasonably priced. Breakfast is substantial and tasty. Would recommend to friends.
Liked the location. The family room was suitable for us. Bathroom was adequate. Beds were comfortable.
I thought the bedroom was a bit cold when we got in as if the heating had not been on long enough to heat the room. I think the cups are far too small for a decent cup of tea, those in the bedroom and dining room. I did ask the waitress for two mugs at breakfast and she did oblige.
This is a very good B&B. Location is good for the town centre. Room was clean and tidy. Staff were first class. Gladly recommend this B&B.
Only downside. No bath.
Location, warmth, comfort,Christ Mas decorations value for money, car parking
The location of the lodge is ideal for those looking for town's facilities
Carpet in bedroom stained black; room was roasting hot, bathroom needs decent cleaning to remove mould from tiles and from skirting boards etc.
Convenient walking distance from city centre (about 6 min). Breakfast was nice, and we appreciated the alternative smoked salmon & eggs version of the Irish bkfst. The city of Killarney itself is lovely.
The floor in the ensuite bathroom had obviously been mopped before we arrived, but the room was so humid that it never quite dried out between the evening we arrived and the next morning when we left. Even the window open didn't seem to help much. And since we had to shower upon arrival (following a long afternoon trail walk) The next morning shower was in a cold tiled room with wet towels... (first time ever I "complain" about a room being cleaned ;))
the staff, breakfast selection, location and room were lovely.
Unobtrusive Acccommodation good Pleasant and attentative staff Warm and comfortable Price far outweighed the facilities Attendance to alternative food requrement
Perhaps more attention to cleanliness of room Have a facility whereby all towels are not necessarily laundered everyday in the interests of the environment. A need for do not dirsturb sign for the door. An extra hour hour for check out
Location and staff breakfast
Smell of mould in the bathroom.t Carpet was black with dirt. Walls in bad need of paint. Skirting boards full of dust.
Warm welcome, comfortable room, cosy bed, great breakfast and all on the edge of the national park, with only a short walk into town. Loved it!
Very location, very warm and comfortable, lovely Christmas decorations very quiet, very efficient, good parking
Good location - walk to town in minutes if not seconds and another direction 20-30min walk to Ross Castle and Lake. Very sufficient breakfast included
Initially I was given a room different to what I booked (twin rather than double). Resolved when I questioned it though.
Grubby room Noise from busy road Small room Lack of heat Shower room needs upgrading
Staff exceptionally pleasant and helpful
Room fronted busy road, next to linen closet and fire exit created noise early morning
Ideally situated Guest house, with friendly helpful staff. Very user friendly.
