It was nice the owner was there paying attention to his customers. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff.
Creaking floorboards, but it was an old building.
A nice hotel, good location, and good facilities, great bar and restaurant downstairs, very helpful staff, would recommend for a weekend or mini break.
Breakfast was a bit of a bun fight but the food was good, maybe due to hotel being full.
Good location. Fantastic staff
Room 119 next to busy main road original sash windows provide no noise barrier. Also a bed in the room was broken.
Everything was really good. Close to all the night life , and shops. We will definitely be back. The entertainment was excellent. The evening meals were really good and the presentation was very good indeed service was first class.
Staff were very helpful and polite the food was excellent and the location was within easy walking distance of places of interest and shopping.
the bar was not opened until late afternoon
I found the staff amazingly helpful and so willing to do all that they can to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. All the staff appearer to enjoy their work and this showed in their commitment to all the guests. The location was good and easy to get to all sights
The hotel has many historical and architecturally beautiful features. Staff was helpful especially in the dining room. Terrific location to go anywhere in the city. No need for a car here, transportation to and from airports is easy and inexpensive. Would stay here again.
Just two people behind reception desk, seemed inadequate during busy check-in and out hours. Resulted in a break down of hospitality and service.
Good price for a good quality room. We had 4 single rooms, all of a good size and standard. Breakfast was very good and so was the service.
When I have stayed at the Castle in previous years I have had a room at the back of the hotel, unfortunately these 4 were at the front and obviously were not so quiet.
Music in cellar bar, good breakfast, interesting building
Old style. Breakfast. Dinner in restaurant was good and cheap.
Broken window in room, terrible noise from traffic. Carpet in room all worn, disgusting stains. Staff in restaurant was slow, not very good service. Not customer friendly.
Service was great and so was the food. Everyone was very friendly and helpful that worked there.
The door slamming going on by other customers at all hours. Hence the poor sleep.
Bathroom close to the bed
Shower was very dangerous as it kept going from hot to scalding to cold! Burnt my head and could not have a proper shower or wash my hair properly!!
Family room was big and spacious with lots of natural light. We loved having the restaurant and live Irish music in the bar downstairs and they were happy for the kids to stay up to watch the entertainment. Breakfast was amazing. Parking very handy out the back of the hotel. Short walk to all the main sites.
on site parking, friendly staff, well appointed and clean. Interesting conversion from 4 buildings. Despite the size of the rooms, they were well lighted and the tiny shower had excellent water pressure. Lovely breakfast room with accommodations made for early departures.
narrow hallways, small room, small bathroom with LOW ceiling, miniscule shower,
They put us in an awful room where the shower leaked all over the bathroom. We complained and then were placed in a very nice room. Why didn't they put us there in the beginning? The original room was terrible! Reception was quite cold and unfriendly.
Very convenient for air coach and walking into main places of interest in city centre; staff very helpful; restaurant light and airy compared with main hotel - was very busy at breakfast but well staffed and managed very efficiently. Was concerned that initial allocated room would be very noisy at front of hotel and was changed to alternative and quieter room without any fuss.
Some noise from adjacent rooms. Was woken by creaking floorboards - perhaps needs to be expected given the age of the hotel.
location friendly and helpful staff
noise from the car park in early hoursts should supply tissue and cotton buds as additional touch tv was a bit small and old
Size of the room and the bed (a tad small for two people)
Fantastic facilities in our family room and an excellent choice for breakfast. Would happily stay here again.
The tea was perfect
The breakfast was very unappetising. The sausages were not fully cooked It was very chaotic at breakfast time and we had to wait each morning for food to come from main kitchen. The choice of cereal was poor
I really liked the atmosphere of the hotel, there was something special about it. I enjoyed a lot the bar with live music and the breakfast facilities and service. It is close to the city center and well-connected to the airport.
The hotel has many Georgian features and, the restaurant is contemporary with a nod to it being a former music shop with a bright modern feel serving great food and great staff.
TV reception could be improved
Old world charm, dining room, friendly, helpful, efficient staff, easy walk to many sites, price.
The tub in the bathroom was charming but a tad difficult to club in and out of - I was afraid of falling.
