Lovely friendly and most helpful staff. Great buzz about the place at all times but especially at breakfast time. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant location. Absolutely no hesitation about going back there or in recommending it to others. A most pleasant experience.
Sounds travel easily in this older hotel. Found noise from room above of someone doing physical exercise or moving about irritating until it stopped c.12.30pm. Noise from the street at night was annoying for someone used to silence of the countryside.
The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast room was very bright and nicely decorated, with a good choice to eat.
The hotel was a bit dated, and the room would have been better with a bit of TLC. The only place to plug the kettle in meant it had to be stood on the floor, and there was no chair at the dressing table. Better quality tea bags would be nice as well.
Very helpful staff who moved us to a bigger room when we weren't happy
Rooms very small and old fashioned . Felt like the whole building needs an upgrade. Very warm especially in breakfast room need to invest in air conditioning
The room was spacious and well furnished, clean & tidy. The hotel is a beautiful building and the children loved it. The dining room & cellar bar were also beautiful & comfortable. There was a wide selection of breakfast choices available & catered for my dietary requirements. Staff we're very friendly & helpful & the hotel located right by the Main Street.
There wasn't much to choose from for lunch & dinner. Other guests seemed to enjoy chatting loudly and slamming doors in the middle of the night.
Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Staff were very helpful.
Paying for parking in the hotel grounds.
We liked the peacefulness and the Staff were they're for us 24 hours a day and were always helpful and the food was Exquisite. It was Excellent. You could not fault anything it was the best food we had ever had in our Lifetime.
We kinda thought the rooms would be the same but they were not so one room was better that the othet and we still had to pay the same price? Not totally fair in my point of view.
Breakfast Most staff Cosy Welcoming
Noise draft from window wallpaper damage paint on bathroom tiles wobbly taps Given wrong directions to room
5 min walk to shops and bars, very quite and warm hotel, excellent food, what more do you want!
Not enough electric points in the room, but that's being picky. All in all a very nice place to stay.
Like period features, very clean great crack in the vault with ray cox's would come back again
we liked the excellent service of the bar staff and food in the vaults dining room
grumpy reception staff on arrival, uncomfortable bed, location of room with steps hard to manouver with luggage, breakfast was cold, chaotic and not worth the money
Staff was smiley and helpful about describing the places.
My room was looking at the rubbish box of the hotel and it was disturbing when they come to trow it,they should make a change on the visual part of it.it was ugly. And windows!to high, can't reach by your self to close.
It was nice the owner was there paying attention to his customers. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff.
Creaking floorboards, but it was an old building.
Excellent food. Fabulous breakfast.Great location. Charming character property. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Less than 20 Euros for taxi to airport.
Room was freezing cold and quite drafty. Not unexpected in an older building but thankfully lots of extra blankets were provided.
A nice hotel, good location, and good facilities, great bar and restaurant downstairs, very helpful staff, would recommend for a weekend or mini break.
Breakfast was a bit of a bun fight but the food was good, maybe due to hotel being full.
Good location. Friendly and professional staff. Clean room. Great irish full breakfast. I really loved it. The hotel owner was very pleasant in person.
very weak shower.Bad wi-fi connection.
Good location. Fantastic staff
Room 119 next to busy main road original sash windows provide no noise barrier. Also a bed in the room was broken.
Everything was really good. Close to all the night life , and shops. We will definitely be back. The entertainment was excellent. The evening meals were really good and the presentation was very good indeed service was first class.
Staff were very helpful and polite the food was excellent and the location was within easy walking distance of places of interest and shopping.
the bar was not opened until late afternoon
I found the staff amazingly helpful and so willing to do all that they can to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. All the staff appearer to enjoy their work and this showed in their commitment to all the guests. The location was good and easy to get to all sights
The hotel has many historical and architecturally beautiful features. Staff was helpful especially in the dining room. Terrific location to go anywhere in the city. No need for a car here, transportation to and from airports is easy and inexpensive. Would stay here again.
Just two people behind reception desk, seemed inadequate during busy check-in and out hours. Resulted in a break down of hospitality and service.
Good price for a good quality room. We had 4 single rooms, all of a good size and standard. Breakfast was very good and so was the service.
When I have stayed at the Castle in previous years I have had a room at the back of the hotel, unfortunately these 4 were at the front and obviously were not so quiet.
Music in cellar bar, good breakfast, interesting building
Old style. Breakfast. Dinner in restaurant was good and cheap.
Broken window in room, terrible noise from traffic. Carpet in room all worn, disgusting stains. Staff in restaurant was slow, not very good service. Not customer friendly.
Service was great and so was the food. Everyone was very friendly and helpful that worked there.
The door slamming going on by other customers at all hours. Hence the poor sleep.
