In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate.

Location was perfect. Easy walk into town and a couple of good local pubs in the opposite direction. Staff very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful.
The gourmet restaurant was lovely and the food superb
Car park but in the middle of dublin we shouldn't really complain
Location Friendly staff clean rooms
Very small bath towels Hairdryer that you have to hold the switch pressed while you use it
Hotel was in a great location. The breakfast was very good and staff couldn't do enough for us!!!
The staff were helpful and pleasant. The evening meal was enjoyable and the staff were again a joy. My partner is a celiac and the hotel provided gluten free bread and were helpful for the meals. Staying again next may.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Evening entertainment. breakfast ver noisy and busy but we'll staffed.
Poor TV provision. No free view or satellite. Not normal in 2014.
Great hotel, friendly staff and good music. Secure parking was a bonus.
Good location, within walking distance to major attractions and bus tours. Good to have a luggage minding service so we could leave our bags on the last day.
Bathroom needed a good clean. Otherwise the room was fine for the price in a major city.
Was a decent size room
Room 221 needed updating Hairdryer needed to be near a mirror, curtains in bathroom needed cleaning and paintwork
The location was ideal for our visit and the rooms were of a good standard.
We were told the room was £124 which was paid and then on departure advised we needed to pay a further £28 with no explanation. Was not happy with this.
Personal and friendly guest service with staff always happy to help in any way necessary
The rooms were a little old fashioned but it wasn't really a problem
The staff in this hotel were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. Downstairs, everything was well maintained and cosy. The eating areas were new and modern.
The facilities in the bedroom I was given was very average. The curtains had partially come off their runners and were old and tatty. The walls were so thin that I could hear every word of a phone conversation in the next room.
Location. Generally quiet except for creaky floorboards and thin walls. Excellent breakfast in café next door - many choices. Intriguing building (old, labyrinth like).
Staff civil but a bit stand-offish.
The hotel was fine, and we booked a great rate. It met the basic need of a place to sleep.
There was a big issue with the water while we were there - ranging from no water at all for part of the day to only hot water coming out of the taps. The shower was unusable because of this. I think it was a municipal water issue outside of the hotel's control; however, they could have communicated what was happening and they didn't. They also could have offered perhaps a percentage off our stay or a free drink in the bar, but there was nothing like that. Even the standard apology was a bit half hearted.
an hours walk from the summit was perfect. nice atmosphere in the hotel. cute little bar.
rooms were very warm. and light in the bathroom couldn't be switched off.
Extremely clean hotel with comfortable beds at great value. Location was good as long as you don't mind a bit of a walk down town. Didn't have many encounters with staff but they seemed nice and very helpful to all. Not much noise considering there is live music at night.
Shower head was broken, creaky floorboards may annoy certain people. WiFi cut on and off at times but not for too long. Breakfast only good if you enjoy full Irish, which i don't. No pastries, choice of breads, meats, bananas, apples, grapes etc. I've stayed at much lower standard hotels that have had a better selection.
* Staff were too friendly * location is perfect
* every day same breakfast! * in four nights bed covers were not changed!
Breakfast, shower location
the build up of used dishes on our small breakfast table
The layout of the hotel is confusing The rstaurent menu is very limited
This was one of the worst experience I had fir the past ten years 1/2 of the lights were not working Shower was not working the first morning, ive asked this to be checked, and jt wasnot working the next day The accomodation was extremly expensive (330/night!) No service I had to pay 4eur to get a beer delivered in my room ... Its a 3 star hotel but it only deserves 1 Avoid this hotel even if it's free
Large, family room! Good sized bathroom! Good breakfast and clean hotel. Great location! Great friendly staff.
Duvet on bed was a bit thin!
Location was good. Food also was good. Owner was on site.
Booked a twin room. Was two twin beds pushed together... At the back of the hotel. Lots of stairs and corners to maneuver. Hard to do if you have more than a carry on. We asked to be moved. The triples have two beds separated. There were still stairs. T.V. Was in a weird location... On a side wall, so you had to turn your head to see it, and did not get many stations. Would not rush back.
The hotel has a lovely genuine olde world grandeur to it. Our family room was huge with four separate beds and tall ceilings. Right outside our room was a common area which effectively served as our sitting room. You could pretend you were living in a Georgian House for a while. The breakfast room is also open to the public as a tearooms/cafe and the breakfast was very good - although the croissants and pains au chocolat semed to be guarded jealously by the staff! The location is very central and there are loads of buses running all over Dublin from just around the corner. We would definitely stay here again.
The location although excellent for O'Connell Street isn't in the most salubrious area. O'Connell Street itself and parnell Square Street have a reputation of being a little bit rough at night although we didn't see anything untoward.
The only negative was strong smell of paint in room
