This boutique hotel with swimming pool and holistic therapy suite is in Macroom, between Blarney and Killarney in Southwest Ireland. The Buckley family has run Castle Hotel for over 60 years and offer a very warm welcome. Castle Hotel and Leisure Centre has a continental-style café, a spacious bar and B's Restaurant, which has an AA Rosette. There is also the Ardilaun conference suite. The hotel offers free parking and reduced green fees on Macroom’s 18-hole course. Macroom offers guided walks around its town, and opportunities for coarse and game fishing. Hotel Rooms: 60

Receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Hotel corridors and room were very warm. Room we were in could do with some modernisation especially bathroom.

This hotel has the most pleasing and stylish decor of any I have ever stayed at: plus friendly helpful staff, and great restaurant and swimming pool. And all at very reasonable prices. I shall definitely return. Wi-Fi has to be paid for.

The staff were lovely to my 6 year old son and also to my totally over excited nephews who live locally and were so pleased to see us. Saturday morning breakfast wasn't as good as Thursday and Friday. Not a complaint, just an observation.

The friendly staff make this hotel. Excellent standard and presentation of food both in bar and breakfast room. Nothing to dislike about the hotel itself, however some noise and disturbance experienced from an alleyway and supermarket adjacent to the rear of the hotel.

The booking did not appear to have gone through and we were asked for payment on checking out, further investigation showed that the booking had been made and the issue resolved but I found it a little disconcerting.

Very family friendly service. Excellent customer service. Reception gave upgrade to family room. Room very spacious clean and comfortable. Lovely Design. Nice pool. Excellent food choice. Great location in small town and good access to west cork and Kerry. Got Voucher for 2 nights for one on next visit. Great choice on breakfast. Very pleasant stay.

Excellent hotel,they help you in every way they can. Very good address for Celiac/Gluten Free visitors, you can have a safe breakfast and a safe dinner. They have separate menu cards for celiac's. Great location for walks, golf and fishing.

Really friendly staff, and great food. Extremely good value for money, I would highly recommend this hotel. There was a conference on the night we stayed so their car park was full. Needed to drive quite a bit away to find a space, then move the car after dinner meaning one of us couldn't have any alcohol. The hotel was very apologetic so we didn't mind at all. They then gave us a room that someone had just smoked in but changed us pretty much immediately. They also gave us a free room upgrade for the inconvenience which was a really nice gesture. It was great that they went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay.

A wonderful experience! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast has probably the best selection of food I have come across in a hotel all of which was amazing. The location is great, right in the centre of Macroom Town. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone.

I love the Irish welcome.From the moment we walked through the door we were made feel very at home.Staff very helpful and friendly.Vichy on the desk very good at her job and felt like we had made a friend.Rooms lovely and very clean.Food in the hotel very good and I really enjoyed my stay. The friendliness of the welcome is excellent, as is the helpfulness of every member of the staff. We ate in the restaurant and the food was superb. We will be back again! Our room was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I only stayed overnight. I was down for a funeral in Macroom. I found the hotel staff most friendly and accommodating and the room was very comfortable. I would like to return for a longer stay in the near future. The price per night sharing was good value.
