thought rate was very expensive for one night while attending a wedding and the fact that breakfast was only on offer until 10.30 on a Saturday morning and room only was not on offer. Also had to share a double bed and key of other room was given to a single occupant eventhough it was the twin bedroom. Also staff never asked how our stay was and it was difficult to discuss while bride whom we were guests at wedding of was with us.

As we have 3 small children the accommodation is ideal for them as hotel rooms are not really practical. Breakfast very nice. Food very good Grounds are very well kept. Lovely walk along the river down to a playground. Kids got great fun out of the statues in the gardens!! The leisure center needs to be seriously updated. We didnt use the pool area. For this reason and this reason only we would not stay there again. Only because we would prefer a more updated leisure center center.

We found that the staff were wonderful and really looked after you. As usual, nothing was too much bother. The room was great in the main hotel and the breakfast did them proud. Would always stay there. 4 Stars*******************8

The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is set in a very picturesque location surrounded by tended green areas and bordering the river Shannon. There is a tranquil extending from the hotel along the river and into town. It is a very nice place to get away and relax.

The grounds leading down to the river were really lovely - great for wedding photos! We were in the garden suites built 6/7 years ago but now in need of a coat of paint, also true of the restaurant which although almost regal is a little tired.

The breakfast was very nice! Going by the swimming pool and leisure facilities, this hotel should not be billed as a "Spa hotel". The facilities are pretty basic, shabby and more in line with what you'd expect of a local community leisure centre (in need of some repair, I might add) than luxurious spa facilities.

It,s one of irelands old world hidden gems in a secluded site surrounded by wonderful views of the hills of County Clare to the front and the Silvermine mountain range to the back. To the front of the hotel the glorious River Shannon meanders gracefully at the end of the gardens, adding to the peaceful quality of this hotel, the reason we've stayed here three times before. The very friendly staff is always at hand to meet what ever needs we may have. The food served is always home made and delicious across the board from the restaurant to the bar food menu and the breakfast is always a real treat. The hotel is family friendly, my children always like it here. The hotel does not have a lift and there are quite alot of steps to negotiate to get to the bedrooms with some steps along one corridor as well. When flushing the toilets there is a loud sound made and this can be a disadvantage especially in the silence of night. The camp beds for children if needed are realy only suited for young children to the age of 9 or so in my opinion.
