Breakfast was good after that not much Rooms were poor. Dinner was charged at full 4 course rate even though we only had two courses and wedding on at the time was an experience.

Rooms are extremely far from reception, no porter, no room service except for breakfast and it is only continental (not a great choice either). Charged me for two room service breakfasts, I only had one, didn't believe when I said that even though on check in I let the, know I was alone (had originally booked for two people). Did not offer me any compensation for traveling alone, I suggested a smaller single room.....I understand the reservation was made but as the hotel was not fully booked I felt allowances could and should have been made.

We were there for a wedding and the hotel accomodated our request for a quiet room - elderley mother - but - as it was halloween - bank hoilday and half term - there were a lot of children who used the lift like a toy - not the hotel's fault - but the parents - so when the "out of order" sign went up - it meant mother had to negotiate far too many stairs - down for the room - up for reception/exit and up again for breakfast...although a sign was put up the next day saying children should only use the lift with an adult - the damage was already done - apart from that a lovely hotel

I was unable to book a Lake view but added note and upon arrival was given as requested without charge. I also received a call from the hotel due to lateness which was a very good touch & customer service. The staff in the restaurant were excellent - the guy's in particular were not only friendly but also knew how to cater for guests. Only stayed two nights b&b but they remembered us. One thing unfortunately. I had booked with the spa a Sunday treat for two (massage & facial) & was advised that I would receive a call back or to drop down on Sat morning.I Did not receive a call & when I checked with the nice staff (male) in the area he was checking & unfortunately this was not booked. Again, this was a treat for my mother coming to visit for one week hence I was disappointed. I did receive an apology but hey. So we spend the money somewhere else. :) But this was the only thing & check in - out was very warm & I love to go back soon. These things happen.

From the moment we set foot in the door of the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff and a warm welcome. Every question was answered with ease. While the Castlerosse is a little outside Killarney (not much though as its a 2k walk in to Killarney) its not too far away from civilisation. While the heating throughout the hotel was fantastic and warm, it was a little noisy in the room when coming on...

Beautiful view on the lake and mountains. Almost everything for the family, single or couple: playground, swimming pool, golf, park. Probably the best 3 star hotel in Killarney area. From my room to reception was 200m which keeps you in form. Manager of the hotel or restaurant was madly hard working person who will help you to check-in beside reception desk and with same dress will get some time to take the plates from tables after the breakfast in the restaurant.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Not a golfer but a great hotel for golfers as the golf course right at your door step! Rooms could be modernised.

The hotel overall was very average, and the rooms were very bland plus our room had no hot water, which was unsatisfactory. Overall it was ok but that's all it was just ok

I recieved excelent service. To explain, a mix up in the booking of an accessible room for me was made and when I phoned to make sure there was a room, both rooms were already booked, but the staff kindly accomodated me in one of their Woodland Cottages, which was fully accessible and at no extra charge. I also found the staff polite and helpful. No complaints and I would certainly stay there again

Its Lakeside location, its proximity to Killarney town and its central location for touring the scenic areas of Kerry The layout requiring a lot of walking to get from bedrooms to communal and recreational areas of the hotel

The Castlerosse Hotel is situated in a beautiful, serene location with wonderful views of mountains, lake and woodland from the restaurants' panoramic windows. The staff are courteous and helpful and the food is excellent with a good choice of menu. Also the bedrooms are very comfortable and well- equipped.

The hotel setting is superb - beautiful views of the mountains and lake. Also there are beautiful walks through the grounds. The pool/spa facilities are also very good. Our kids loved the pool. I was disappointed with the food. We ate dinner in the restaurant and for a hotel of this class, we would have expected the cuisine to be of a higher standard and to be more creative. My main course was luke warm. Having said that, our kids (aged 13 to 8) enjoyed the food and the kiddies' dinner menu is good value.
