Off route N25 between New Ross and Wexford Town, Cedar Lodge is a charming 4-star country hotel. Set beneath Carrigbyrne Forest, Cedar has an excellent restaurant, rooms with private bathrooms and Wi-Fi.

Relax in the lounge bar and enjoy the woodland views. There is an incredible wine list, which contains over 200 bins, and has vintages dating back to 1955.

Dine in discreet elegance in the Abercrombie Restaurant, with its roaring fire. Using locally sourced produce, the restaurant offers great seafood including Slaney wild salmon, oysters and lobster.

The John F. Kennedy Arboretum, with over 4,500 types of trees and shrubs, and Wexford Racecourse are within 6 miles from The Cedar Lodge Hotel. The beautiful 4 Blue Flag beaches of Wexford are just a 15 minute drive away.

The room was large and clean, although the decoration was a bit haphazard - a random collection of odd objects. 1) Thinking I was travelling alone, I booked a single room for €78. As it happened, my girlfriend came with me; she also ate 2 slices of toast in the morning. That somehow changed the bill from €78 to €120. €42 for 2 slices of toast?! 2) The shower unit was out-of-date and very weak water pressure, the television was similar - very much out-of-date. 3) We considered eating in the hotel but the menu was very limited (as a vegetarian my only options were side dishes of boiled vegetables), so we went out to eat. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful, did you?	6.7

We did not query this as the room and en suite were very acceptable. Surprisingly the bed in such a room was only standard double bed size. While breakfast was adequate it was not of the standard we have become used to where fresh fruit, cereals and various breads are set out for choice. I was very impressed with the bar area and had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The only thing I did not like about the hotel is its location, it is a few miles from New Ross.
