However dirty and very small room at the street side so a lot of noise all night long.
Hmmm . . . I guess the only thing I liked was that they provided a shuttle service for free to the airport. Also, they had wifi even tho it was spotty.
I thought it was very overpriced for what you got. The room was about the size of a closet. Barely room to move. The bathroom was equally small. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the heat was turned off completely during the day which made it very cold.
Location was good.
The noise was unreal! we went the sat-mon we never slept a wink from the moment the local pub and people out side stop screaming the people come to clean the streets. On 2 occasions we had people try and get in our room and the banging from other guest was shocking would never book again!
Location, cozy room, friendly staff.
The tolilet was not functioning properly and ran all night long. We did notify the staff but I suspect they must have been aware of it as anyone cleaning the room would have noticed it.
Location, updated facilities, decent wi-fi, friendly staff, common areas clean. Building has a certain charm. Didn't mind climbing 3 flights of stairs. Nice Jazz standards playing over breakfast.
Weak water pressure in shower, loose toilet seat, no plug for sink, no bathroom fan to air out either bathroom or befroom which-- despite heat-- did not allow hosiery washed in sink to dry overnight, no public space (ie lobby) to sit. Breakfasts were generous but unimaginative. It may take you a few nights to get used to the street noise, with people occasionally talking loudly at any hour outside.
Only had two breakfast, but they were very nice and filling, loads of toast and coffee. Bed was very comfortable.
Didn't like climbing all those stairs to the top floor, but were only there for a couple of days, so no problems.
Central location, Dining Room with decent breakfast, helpful staff. Celt Pub next door.
Small bedroom, expensive for what it was.
Rooms where small but nice, clean and with toilette in the room. Reception was friendly and welcoming. Location was very good and central, just what we were looking for.
Great service, and tour information, the location is perfect to walk around town, this is your best choice if you are traveling light and are used to the time zone
The walls are to thin so you can hear pretty much everything on a busy day, the cleaning service is really loud and starts around 11 am (fair warning jetlaggers). There was dust and dirt in the blowdrier and kettle had dust, water and rust inside.
very cold in rooms, heater didn't work well. Shower was broken.
central, "lively" location, so if you like being kept awake by drunks singing in the street and the delivery vehicles in the pre-dawn then this is the place for you! restaurant attached to hotel has a good menu and reasonable prices; looked like a hearty Irish breakfast was available
poor value for money - no way was bed & breakfast worth €180; I would say €50 would have been about right very noisy rooms if overlooking the street
Rooms are very compact but modern, clean and comfortable. en suite shower room was very nice with great shower. Celtic Lodge is a very short walk from connolly station. Staff were helpful with directions. Great value in Dublin city centre
Brilliant & helpful staff that always wear smiles, location was in the middle of everything. Got a great price on the room that was basic but all you need. Cleaners were invisible, didn't run into one once but they kept the room topped up with coffee and tea everyday. My friends had the same experience. Restaurant next door has amazing food! The chicken was especially delicious Would recommend and definitely re-visit! Thanks Celtic Lodge Team!
As said a thousand times, traffic noise may annoy the lighter sleeper... However it's really not that loud in comparison to most city centers and didn't invade my dreams at all.
Staff very helpful
- Perfect location for travel (near main bus and train station) - Good location regarding sites and city centre - Free Airport shuttle - Friendly staff - Quiet room
Hotel staff very friendly, the hotel seems very clean and good for security.
Rooms seemed very small, radiators didn't work on one of the days.
easy to book
the website (booked through booking.com) indicated that payment could be made by american express . but at the hotel American express was not accepted. this could clearer.
Comfortable beds, staff very nice. Free shuttle service to airport. A nice place. Would probably stay again.
Shower room/toilet was very small. Was sharing twim room with my son. Not much room for privacy, could just about manage to just use the loo and get out.
The staff was wonderful. The rooms were fine (we were two families - my wife and I, and my son and his wife and two children + my niece). The adjoining restaurant was wonderful and the pub was a lot of fun. Only drawback for some would be the lack of lift - yes you have to walk up stairs. No matter the location, staff and facilities are great, We walked to Trinity College, Temple Bar, ST Stephens Park, Guinness Brewery, and the train and bus stations. We loved this place.
Not a thing. We even got a free ride back to the airport.
staff were friendly and helpful
Very noisy, rooms very outdated and bedding was dirty. I also left things in room and they were not handed into lost property.
The friendliness of the staff was exceptional. The girl at check-in was really friendly, helpful and informative. The centrality of the location couldn't be any better. O Connell St just less than 10 min walk. There was a complimentary newspaper available at reception. There was a vending machine at reception for those midnight treats like chocolate and the likes. The establishment also has some connection with the Le Bon Crubeen resturant next door. The food there is delicious and not too expensive. The earlybird is worth a browse not to mention a Soup and a sandwich.
The rooms were small in size, quite cramped. The room however was clean, the toilet/shower facilities adequate. The room was fine for an overnight but I don't think it would suit a week's stay. The cost was a bit pricey given the decor and general set up of the accommodation. However, it was a bank holiday weekend and you also pay for a central location. The room was located on the second floor, we had to haul our bags up two narrow flights of stairs. I didnt notice any lift and I did wonder how would a disabled guest manage??
location central good bar and restaurant reception staff pleasant and helpful breakfast is not fancy but good value for 6 euros compared with comparable places around. But if you can wait Id walk into town and find a nice cafe
poor shower pressure and temperature you have to ask to have the room heating switched on- fine once you work this out..
sound of music from the bar
Clean, comfy, great location... Not the Ritz but then again for £75 night for double room you get great value for money. Try out the pub next door... Keep in mind you're in Central Dublin and there will be a bit of noise.
It didn't worry me too much but if you have mobility issues you may find the climb up the stairs a bit much... Take earplugs
friendly staff, good location - 10 min walk to temple bar clean
room had push taps so you had to wash your face with one hand or use both hands for 2 seconds. very weak shower which was sometimes cold, cold room
