Location was brilliant, central to everything. Lovely hotel bar. Quaint old building. Rooms were kept very clean.
Noise at night was horrendous! Did not expect it to be that bad when we requested in advance a quiet room! Ear plugs are essential.
Very good location, comfortable and tidy. The towels was good quilty and tidy everyday.
The staff of reception was unkind, unhelpful. The room was noisy, and very bad view. The room's eqiupments like TV very old, lights less so the room was very dark. The floor and carpet was poor.
Ideally located a short walk from Temple Bar and many of Dublin's main tourist attractions. I was attending a concert in the Olympia Theatre which is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Have stayed in the Central Hotel before and once again found the room comfortable and the staff excellent. Would definitely recommend.
The Library Bar is an absolute gem and the location is the best
But the location in the heart of Dublin means that it is also the noisiest with night life intruding upon sleep : Its a listed building and so sound proofing is minimal.
Getting a suite when we were only expecting a room!
Street noise and noise from nearby nightclub
Location was excellent I find it expensive for what the hotel is and offer
Old floor, windows and wall cannot prevent hearing all the noises from outside and other guests. The room is very dark, with not enought light
Great location, great price
The location was very central and ideal for meeting up with friends and for getting back at night. Most of the staff were efficient but I wouldn't exactly say tripping over themselves to be welcoming.
The hotel reception was chaotic at times. I waited to check out, queueing behind a man who was checking out. It was obvious I was not with this person. The second person on reception proceeded to check out a group of people who just walked up to the reception. I waited until the first person had checked out, but then the person checking him out disappeared with his bags. During this time the second receptionist started checking out another person who had just walked up to the reception desk. The hotel was very cold. The radiator was on 5 but was not radiating any heat and I was very cold during the night. I overheard someone else at reception complaining about the cold. They had asked the manager to look at this, which he had done. They said they had managed to get the heating back on for about half an hour but then it went off again. The bathtub was very old and the shower had a diagram on the wall indicating which way to turn the knobs to regulate the water pressure and temperature of the water. The lower shower knob actually did not turn around and seemed to be set on hot. The only thing you could regulate was the pressure of the water. At breakfast they had a TV on and a radio. I was surprised to see that I had to pay for breakfast and thought that it was slightly overpriced.
the location is excellent as it is a stones throw from temple bar and grafton street. The hotel also boasts a great bar and the sdjoing exchequer bar and grill is livrly with awesome cocktails and fantastic foof
Location and cleanliness
I think breakfast should have been included for that price
The hotel is very nice and confortably. The position is perfect for visit the city by feet. The staff is very kind and professional.
Location is perfect After dinner in one of the many restaurants in the visicinity, the beautiful hotel bar is a perfect place to for a nightcap.
Noise from the street prevented us having a really good nights sleep
Location was good overall had a great stay
This hotel was so comfortable and cozy. I really loved the Library Bar and the food was great. I would stay at Central Hotel again in a heartbeat!
no sleep extractor out side window
Loud and too hot
Loved the hotel and where it was nice and centrally located
Centrally located means lots of very noisy night life all night long. We were there on Thursday and Friday nights as well as every other person in Dublin. They were not trying to sleep
Great location, big room with many windows and a nice street view.
The Windows were a bit old and didn't help to keep the noise low.
The rooms where lovely and very clean and decorated nicely, and perfect location.
on our second night there was too much noise at 2am shouting and laughing from men which we believe was from the bar, which made it a bit difficult to sleep.
Noise from room upstairs could be heard
Older feel of the hotel but with all the facilities Spotlessly clean and room on third floor very quiet Slept very well
No Bar in the hotel but there is one right next door
It was impossibile to regulate the water temperature of shower. Otherwise it was OK
Great location, lovely Library Bar, old world charm in the lobby
Very uncomfortable beds and pillows, some rooms are noisy due to nearby nightclub and poor showers
Location, Central to everything Library Bar
Bathrooms could do with upgrading and the room too
Location was excellent, bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Yes you can hear people socialising in the area but we were so centrally located you can't have it all. It didn't keep us awake and we did stay for the weekend so couldn't expect dublin to be quiet! The old hotel feels grand and well kept, almost feels like you're staying in a part of Dublin history.
Fellow guests banging. Not at fault of the hotel. The hotel is old though so be prepared for lots of creaky floor boards. Not a big deal for me but if you are a light sleeper it may bother you.
