Nice location. Very helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Our bedroom was very cold. We made this known to reception but nothing was done to rectify the situation. This was a shame as everything else was fine.

The staff were friendly and it was convenient to stay at the same place as the wedding reception, which was the purpose of the trip It was a bit basic = cheap bedding which should not be a fact in this day and age. It fits the purpose of a clean and convenient bed for the night, but not much else - not a place one would want to linger in but nothing to actually complain about. Certainly not in the luxury class. If the room we had was a de luxe double room, as stated below, I certainly would not want to have stayed in a basic room as I began by saying above that our room was basic.

I have stayed at this hotel before, lovely hotel, I only stayed as it it not to far for me when I go to Athy to see family. Shame the town hasn't changed in 40 years and has truly gone to the dogs, nothing there. Lovely locatiation, staff are great and very helpful, rooms very big and spotless.

Very modern, American-style rooms, king sized bed. Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet location. An assortment of livestock on premises would interest children (and my husband). Had to drive into Athy and had some difficulty using WiFi?

having booked a three night stay with four other family members, we were looking forward to a relaxing break. on arrival however we were not pleased to hear and see the work be carried out to the baileys bar. we were not informed of this at time of booking. the hotel should have informed us. the duty manager was not very helpful or understanding. my mother who was with us had just finished chemotherapy and the last thing any of needed was the sound of drills and hammers.... with the limited space inside the hotel to relax we chose to avail of the outside seated area due to the good weather, however the baileys bar being right next to it along with the constant presence of workman and their tools in and out and noise it was far from relaxing.

The staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. The shower was hot and powerful. The free internet was a plus and easy to access. The room smelt fresh and was well aired and the bed linen was spotless, The wardrobe and storage were very good. There were plenty of pillows. The foyer area was clean and bright and welcoming. The brasserie was pleasant and well maintained. Bar staff very attentive and quick to serve. Towels and bathroom fresh and clean and well stocked. Grounds and car park clean and well maintained. Room 109 had a burn in the carpet. The extractor fan in the bathroom buzzed loudly all night. The front of the cupboards were not cleaned properly. Hot damp cloth should be followed by a dry shine to remove residue on surfaces. There were only two sets of coffee and tea provided. Even in this economic decline that seemed stingy. The food was reheated and the chips were frozen. The door keys were an experience and lesson in anger management under extreme duress. Overall very minor details to an overall good experience,

“Only a few minutes walk into the town centre, it is ideally located for a visit to Carlow. My room was very spacious and beautifully laid out. Lots of storage, very warm, with a big en-suite, a tv with lots of channels, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, and everything was spotless! A really good variety of cooked breakfasts were available the next morning. The owners were welcoming, attentive, and friendly.Highly recommended.” Audrey, Dublin |

“The hotel is very clean and modern-the staff cannot do enough for you and the the food in the Stir Restaurant was first class.I have to make a special mention for Trevor the chef, my daughter has a strict diet that she has to follow and Trevor went out of his way to cook her evening meal which she said was the best meal that she had eaten on our 8 day tour around Ireland, he also cooked her a breakfast observing the needs of her diet.We stayed in 7 hotels around Ireland and when booking all of them I requested certain ingredients to conform with my daughters diet and this was the only hotel to confirm my booking request when we arrived and had stocked the items that I had requested.” Garth, Birmingham |
