In 1500 acres of wooded countryside, Clare Inn Hotel has a gym, an indoor swimming pool and rooms overlooking the Shannon Estuary. There is free private parking. Staff and food were excellent. Room where we stayed while comfortable was a little dated and too far from the smoking zone for my wife's liking.(Maybe a good thing.)

Staff really excellent. Both on reception & in bar. Child friendly. Great facilities for children & children were made feel welcome. Hotel was in a great location. (we were attending a wedding in Dromoland). Bar & reception areas were very very nice. The bath in my room (240) took far too long to run. It was also a little chilli in our room. Breakfast was just ok. All in all very pleased with my stay & would recommend hotel.

The best thing about the Clare Inn is the staff. From check in to having a drink in the bar and at breakfast the following morning every staff member we encountered was friendly and efficient. The building is an eye sore and designed with no thought for the service users, E.G. the lift is a mile hike from the reception area.

The room we stayed in was clearly quite old and the walls were paper thin.. We could hear every movement from the room above and felt at points as though they would come through the ceiling.. The directions and getting to the hotel was also quite confusing, on the address listed for the Hotel it shows as 3 different areas..

Not a thing! It is a sadly run down and neglected hotel. Rooms are not up to even basic standard: curtains hanging off, bedcover ripped, radiator patched up and not working, sockets loose from wall ( dangerous) and bathroom dingy and old. Ok if you need a place to make a pit stop but certainly no more than that. Very surprised it is still allowed to operate - given the poor and shabby state it is in.

Very handy base for travelling around Co Clare and sightseeing. Children travelling with me were aged 7-16 years. There was a free children's club, available for a good many hours of the day. There was a jungle gym which was only €4 per hour. The swimming pool was available from 10am- 6pm and was also free. So plenty to keep the family busy. The breakfast was a self-service buffet, which was very generous. I thought the family rooms we stayed in were a bit shabby. The bathrooms were very small. The hotel website said adult breakfast was €7.50 and the cut off age was 15 years, but at the hotel we were informed it was €10 and the age was 12 years and up.

Close to where I wanted too be. It was awful the room was cold and the kitchen sink was dirty and the shower was the same.. The hotel was paid on arrival cash and the Hotel still took 165 euro from my account and it 6 days later and I still havent received my money..

Congrats to wedding catering team - was very impressed with standard of catering at wedding we attended. Everyone very well looked after. Excellent food and very quick service by waiters and bar staff. Excellent value for money for one-night stay. Was aware of poor reviews in advance of our stay. Had no issues whatever. Hotel could do with redecoration for sure, but is still very comfortable. Rates currently available represent very good value for money. Go somewhere more modern (and pay more) if you must. Note - on the basis of reviews read, did not get breakfast at hotel and did not use any leisure facilities there.

It was warm, checking in took rather long, our room seemed a mile away from reception, beds and bathroom fine. food was shall we say, middle of the road, prices at the bar a little too high.
