the kitchen and the home made bread
Hostle kitchen was very clean with a broad spectrum of all sorts of kitchen utensils and machines. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Room and Bathroom need renovation - old and used look and feel. Particularly the shower is impractical: the shower does not have a regular tap, but instead only a self-stop button. Meaning: you have to keep on pressing the button to keep the water running. The room and bathroom smelled like mould. The price for a double room does definitely not match the quality of room you get.
Pat was brilliant and couldn't be more helpful for us. We went down for the lisdoonvarna festival and he organised a taxi straight away for us. Couldn't be more helpful :)
The location was good - not too far from Ballyvaughan (by car) and The Burren Perfumery is just down the road. Patrick the owner was very helpful with local information.
I can't really complain. It most probably is good to have a car to reach the hostel
The price was reasonable
Very very isolated and showers were cold
i like the calm and te peace the place is goog for pepole passionate about walking. I also liked the kindness of the inhabitants in surrounding
no shop around no bus
Owner is very friendly and helpful . The living and kitchen is very spacious . Bedrooms are well laid out and comfortable . There is a games room which is useful if you have kids . There is a pub across the road and a restaurant besides its a very small and quiet village . Though it is away from the seaside resorts it is still within a short driving distance to anywhere you want to go
Very clean and comfortable hostel! Right next to paths in The Burren. Great kitchen. Great Wi-Fi. Great people.
Pat makes homemade bread every night! Very hospitable and friendly, accommodating, great resource for local information. The location is wonderfully central for any of the Burren sites.
Push button shower.
The owner very friendly
only 1 restaurant in that area, countryside
Pat the owner and Elaine who works there too, nothing was too much for them made us feel like we were part of the family, our 11 and 8 year loved it too really settled in and the area/setting fantastic scenery and the games room and outdoor chess great. Thanks Elaine for the loan of the crutches, Geraldine my wife is still on them.
Location in the Burren. Easy access to experience this unique landscape.
Youth hostel style. Not supposed to eat even a snack in the room. Had to sneak glasses from the kitchen even to have a drink in the room.
Scenery, pub a short walk, shared kitchen is amazing, very clean.
very helpful staff only too willing to help
The location in the mountains. Not far from all the major atractions, but at a good price. Nice room with comfortable bed. Very friendly staff.
There is a separate house with private rooms that is possibly built from wood only, therefore there is not much sound and even vibrations (bed shaking) isolation when people go up the stairs or stay in the kitchen or TV room. So don´t expect a complete silence if you want to go to sleep earlier. However, it wasn´t tragical and we always had a good sleep.
The hostel is clean, secure and is eco friendly.
Games facilities. There was a crazy golf course, pool table, full size air hockey table and giant connect 4. Perfect for children after a long car journey. Wifi very good too.
Family friendly hostel. Lovely views in the area.
Staff not very friendly the following morning when group just waking up and getting organised.
Wonderful view over the Burran - quiet - clean air - country peace
There were noisy kids above us. Very steep staircase up to our room. Only a really thick duvet and it was a very hot night. The window didn't open wide enough to let good air in.... Mosquitoes bit me - although we were warned there were midges!
Super friendly and caring host.
You cannot change temprature of the shower. It was very hot.
I liked the location as it is very central to explore the area and . The staff are very friendly and obliging and the accommodation is very clean.
The acoustics of the building are of vey poor quality, therefore ,due to high level of noise and hearing the foot steps of the people on the room above I could not sleep! . The shower needs to have hot water running for longer period of time.
- two nice hike´s starting near the hostel - friendly and supportive staff - kitchen for cooking and breakfast
View is amazing, kids enjoyed of games room and swings. Lovely room, excellent value for money, close to all tourist attractions, definitely will come back!
Restaurant beside the hostel - do not go there! They charging you 25 euro for 4 course Italian meal every Saturday - nothing else is available in menu that day! 4 course consist of started, main course and tea and cake or ice cream... you would pay for that about 16 euro in other places around! DO NOT GO THE RESTAURANT!!!
The kids loved the games room. The view was lovely. A lovely pub just around the corner. And a lovely walk round the corner as well. The only point was we all had showers but the water was cold but there was 6 of us ! Wifi was great. I would recommend this hostel though it was really nice.
