Clarion Hotel CorkLapps Quay, . Cork (Show map) Excellent, Score from 274 reviews“The hotel upgraded us to a fantastic room with a balcony over looking the river. It was clean and stylish and was in a perfect location, with the bus station for airport buses a road away and a couple of minutes walk to main shopping and restaurant area. The food in kudos bar was amazing My window looked right down onto an alleyway which was full of homeless people and prostitutes. I asked a member of staff an they told me they were to pretend they knew nothing about it she told me the building across from the holtel was the simon community. I did not sleep for the two nights as the homeless people spent the night shouting and fighting. This was very disapointing as I did not feel safe leaving d hotel in the evening plus a member of staff had told me that some of the chefs had been attacked in the the underground car park

Ideal location close to shopping areas, restaurants. Very relaxing atmosphere throughout hotel. Helpful staff. Bedrooms were in excellent condition. Bexcellent restaurant in the hotel The only negative is the parking system. Adequate parking underground, however after paying for parking at hotel reception I still had to get out of my car to get car park attendant to validate ticket.

The hotel was new and modern, clean and bright. Parking was perfect in the underground carpark. The staff were very helpful and service at the front desk was very prompt even when busy. The location was excellent for the city centre and the boardwalk setting is lovely. While the carparking was very good, it was confusing as I didn't know I had to validate the ticket at the front desk and therefore had to return to the desk from 2 floors down. I didn't see any sign on the way or at the pay station to tell me this.

A business type hotel, modern and located within 10 minutes walking distance of the centre of the city. Excelent staff. The surroundings of the hotel are not very pleasant.

We arrived early and were upgraded to an executive suite - so absolutely no complaints - just wished we were staying more than one night.

We were on a 2 week touring holiday of Southern Ireland and the Clarion was well positioned in the town near the main shopping area and restaurants. Our room overlooked the quay and we visited Blarney Castle and took the bus tour of the city during our 2 night stay. The hotel staff were helpful in advising us about the city and I enjoyed watching Leinster beat Northampton in the Heineken Cup final whilst enjoying a pint in the hotel sports bar.

We were upgraded to an executive room which was wonderful. Very large and very comfortable. The staff on both checking in and checking out (two different people) couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. Will definately stay there again given the service and location of the hotel We had room service for breakfast and the cooked irish breakfast was absolutely disgusting to look at, . dont know what it tasted like as couldnt touch it. The pudding looked raw, the potato wedges grey....

Convenient location with good value for money The double rooms have two single beds pushed together. Is uncomfortable and could put me off staying again if another hotel was equal in price. Showers could be a bit taller as I found it was not high enough for a 6ft tall person. Tv channels could be expanded with freeview

We were arriving late so I called them to let them know. I had a further call to question where we were from someone else following that. I emailed two addresses to ask for a bottle of prosecco to be put in the room. I couldn't call as I was sharing the car with the person it was a surprise for. One email address didn't work (info@...) and I still haven't had a response. The shower did not work. At all. No water coming through so couldn't shower. On checkout, the lady at the desk didn't know my room rate and asked me did I 'think it was 80 or 100 euro. Finally, we got charged for parking (which is fine) but it wasn't mentioned when we checked in even though they asked for our reg. All in all a shambles.

The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was of a good standard. Complimently water was a nice touch. The swimming pool was of 0 standard, you couldn't even see the bottom of the pool with the amount of clorine in it, I did one lap and had to get out. The steam room could do with been cleaned out a bit better, seem alot of dirt on the floor tiles. Having to pay 10euro for parking for one night.

Comfortable bed; friendly evening staff; clean room; peaceful; Was not offered an outside view room when the hotel was by no means full; the booking price of e130 was for 2 people b&b (e100 room and e15 each breakfast) yet my final bill as a single traveller was e120, which to me does not add up; the breakfast wasn't worth 20Euros, the breakfast staff were grumpy.

Convenient location, good and unobtrusive cleaning service, helpful staff, good sport and health suite facilities in the basement of the hotel, good tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Just a couple of minor concerns: 1) I discovered that rooms facing the Atrium can be as noisy as rooms facing the main streets surrounding the hotel, even on the top floors! I used earplugs (because I didn't want to move all my stuff to another room) so it didn't affect me too much but I can see noise being a problem for other guests. 2) Also, my bed mattress had developed a bit of a curve, which is a no-no for 4 star hotels. It might be time for replacing old bed mattresses throughout the hotel or investing in good mattress covers?

The bed was comfortable and the pool area was nice and clean. All of the windows face into the hotel therefore you had to have your curtains closed so people couldnt see into your room.

Great location, on the river and very adjacent to shopping area; very good pool and spa facilities A non smokers room had the smoke alarm covered with a shower cap to permit smoking undetected - not removed by cleaning staff and room had odour of smoke in it; only two towels were in the room for a triple occupancy.
