The staff were most helpful. The swimming pool was a welcome bonus
What's not to like?
The Spencer Hotel has a lovely modern location. Very excellent beds and an outstanding service. The Hotel Bar has good relaxing music so you can enjoy your drinks at an open fire.
male receptionist was very helpful
Didnt like the colour of the 7th floor , felt like it was a warehouse
the food very good ALL
Close to 3 Arena Close to city restaurants Close to shopping
Location, parking, staff, welcoming, breakfast
The big comfortable bed. The size of the bathroom. The bar and reception area were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was just wonderful. Will try and stay there the next time we are in Dublin.
The limited amount of tea bags & milk in the room. The lack of clothes hangers in the room on arrival. The car parking was a bit of a drama especially when full.
Nice bed. Quiet rooms.
Bar closed at 11:30pm. No resident bar facility after a local concert was disappointing. Expected to pay Euro 6 for a 330ml beer in room service. This is Dublin on the Quays; not Times Square. Reduce the price.
comfy bed friendly receptionist great shower
too many xmas functions. even though there was a function room they used the bar and so no room for guests. breakfast was room service and was cold and under cooked. very disappointing stay. changed hotel for our second night in Dublin
V friendly staff nothing was too much trouble.
Car park cost and the fact it's adjacent to hotel.
Room and facilities were outstanding, from size of bed to indoor pool and gym, bar an restaurant had an excellent vibe with friendly happy staff. 2mins away by tram located, back of hotel to 3 arena, Elton John concert phenomenal overall 10/10 for stay.
Location, proximity to Luas
Thumping music in hotel bar didn't entice us to have drink there
Friendly, helpful staff Easy access to 3 Arena On LUAS Line direct from Heuston/to Dublin City Centre Very quiet room, clean, warm Nespresso coffee machine in the room Proximity to M&S Food Hall on Mayor Square
Heating was not working both nights of our stay and we had a dimplex heater in the room as a substitute both nights. Completely unacceptable given the cost and reputation of the hotel.
Have stayed here on a number of occasions over the last few years. Comfortable hotel 10 to 15 mins walk from the 3arena & 10 from the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. The Luas line stops behind the hotel, the next stop is the 3arena. Our group of 6 had a lovely meal in the East restaurant on Sun.evening after the Andre Rieu concert. The staff were very pleasant & attentive.
Breakfast too expensive. Room rates can also be quite expensive. No information pack in the room regarding TV channels, tourist information, etc. No fridge in room although it is possible to get one. Service very slow for lunch in bar on Sun. Nearby car parks badly signposted. Not the most ideally situated hotel if you are on a shopping trip.
room very comfortable location excellent
screen in lobby in front of lifts swivel front door heavy difficult to turn
Breakfast was total chaos not enough staff on... The staff were excellent but certainly overworked.
Location was great
I didnt like the sausages we got for breakie ..
Comfortable bed. Breakfast times, pantry manager very helpful.
Directions and location of car park
5 minute walk to 3Arena. Very comfortable bed, spacious rooms. Luas into o connell street right behind hotel.
Breakfast was expensive €15 each. Other than that it was very pleasant.
The whole experience was brilliant, we were up from Wexford for a concert at the 3 Arena, it was really conveniently situated, so convenient in fact that my wife is moving from a different hotel for a future concert to your hotel. The next day we did a little shopping and everything, including the city centre was within walking distance. Very enjoyable stay indeed.
If I had one complaint it would be the music, when we arrived it was so loud we couldn't hear the reception staff! Then in the morning at breakfast (which was supurb) the loop melody in the background was extremely annoying, about 4 different people commented about it to us over our stay. It doesn't take a lot to have something pleasent to listen to in the background. It wasn't even music, like I said, it was a melody on a loop. Over, over, over and over again!!
I stay in many hotels in Dublin as I travel a lot for business. The Spencer hotel was comfortable modern very clean warm and inviting I couldn't fault it, it is the nicest hotel I have stayed in in Dublin so far. The staff were very courteous efficient inviting pleasant and very well groomed.
That I have nothing to be negative about
The breakfast was really good. Great variety and the quality of ingredients was great. Much better than similar hotel breakfasts. Also, we particularly enjoyed the swimming pool and spa area.
The air-conditioning/heating system was very noisy in our room. We couldn't watch a movie in laptop unless we switched off the air-con.
I have never stayed in a nicer friendlier hotel. The way they treated the children was second to none and Carmen in the restaurant was in real friendly as well. Great hotel all round will defiently return.
Food was amazing, staff so helpful and the hotel was spotless clean, should be 5 star..
