The family suite was very spacious and ideal for young children. The small kitchen area was a great benefit for 'snacking' in the room. As a famy hotel I found the pool changing facities a little inconvenient - separate male & female rooms which made it difficult with 2 young children. In addition the staff were not very friendly and overall could have been more welcoming on arrival.

Room was fabulous, think I might have booked a suite by accident, but how bad! The bar only serves soup & sandwiches. In saying that though, the barman did offer to see what he could do for us if we didn't want to go sit in the restaurant.

The recpetion staff was the only thing welcoming in the hotel. The bathroom mirror wasn't cleaned (only half way) There was a small of stale smoke in the bedroom. There was a big hole(burn mark) on the large pillow on the bed.

Location Beautiful building Not enough staff - had to beg for a menu at lunchtime; waited ages for someone to take our order then had to ask three times for the bill - very poor service. Also on check out I wasn't asked how I enjoyed my stay or if everything had been satisfactory. The lady at the check-out desk just wanted to take my payment. Customer service was non existent. Three empty food trays were sitting in the corridor for well over 12 hours - this doesn't make a good impression nor was it particularly hygienic. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff My room was not cleaned the first day, so I had to wait until they freshen up. This was at 8 pm. Later I found out my fellow colleague who paid the same amount as me had the first floor rooms with kitchen and living room. I was extremely dissapointed considering we all paid the same. Plus there was one waitress in the restaurant who was not to pleasant to the gentleman who commented that his seafood chowder only had one salmon/fish in the entire dish.

Lovely location, quiet comfortable rooms. Very nice choice of dishes in restaurante, good portions. The main door is tiny and will take the hand off someone, probably a child some windy day. I arrived on a very windy night and had to be extra careful as I was entering with my bags as the door kept slamming. There needs to be a longer handle on the door as the one that's there is too small and too near the edge of the door making the probability of someone catching their fingers while the door slams in the wind fairly high. It's a major health and safety issue for your hotel at the moment.

History of the building and Sligo town, as described in Sebastian Barry's novel "the Secret Scriptures". Pool and Jacuzzi excellent. Room excellent. Some evening entertainment in the hotel would have been nice since it was a bit of a walk into town for us and nothing started before 10 pm.
