Staff seemed unfamiliar with area restaurants and directions in general...asked for a room in back with a view of Benbulben but didn't get it...

Modern design , friendly staff.

Having arrived late couldn't get anything to eat, except sandwich, after 10.30pm.

Quiet room and clean sheets.

The room was not at a level of cleanliness one would expect of a hotel with its room rates or reputation. The front entrance had a large stain on the ground from some spilt liquid (presumably beer) that greeted us on arrival and was still there when we left the next day. The restaurant food was presentable but not particularly tasty.. it tasted as if it were out of a packet or can. The room had some unidentified food/other stain on the carpet and the waste bin and the bath room had a variety of stains all over the place. The metal bar holding the shower-head was not fixed and fell out of its holder at the slightest pressure, making adjusting the shower head difficult. On the positive side the sheets were clean, the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.

The pool facilities were clean and well run, with very friendly staff. The bar food was good and well-priced, again with very good waiting staff. Reception staff efficient and our little girls had a great laugh with them. We like the outdoor grassy area to the front, gives us lots of room to run around, hiding behind trees, etc. This is a lovely hotel, we have stayed about 6 times, and will certainly return.

The restaurant was awful, the dinner was expensive and the food terrible, once the order was taken and food delivered no staff came near us, the food was cold and very poor.

Value for money and also the building itself

We only had one problem, our heating wasn't working on the Friday night and the room was really cold!

Its placed in a perfact area just outside Sligo city centre but in walking distance. It has a very nice leisure/spa and fitness centre in the hotel. I also found the staff very friendly and the meals in the bar were very nice. I would recommend this hotel.

It was nice. We had been driving around the country and decided to stay here because the location and the price. It looks lovely, has history but has modern facilities. It is big but use of space is nice. There are cozy areas to sit indoors and outdoors. I like the seats and tables outside. It is near places to visit and do. Good choice. The price was fair.

The breakfast dishes needed to be cleaned a bit better. Out of a stack of warm, supposedly clean dishes, I had to go thru 5 plates before getting a clean one. Maybe dishwasher broken, maybe needs more soap. Other than that, no complaints. Oh, the eggs were runny.

Location was good, Factilites were also good in the hotel, Wi-Fi etc all worked well.

The hotel was not clean enough in my view. Its all the small things - the glass all over the hotel had finger marks, sticky fingers etc it looked bad, dirty cups at breakfast, kinves and forks with food on them etc. Breakfast buffet was not great, the value and extra €10 for 2 people is excellent but I would ahve paid €10.00 each had it been better. Problems are minor and couyld be easily fixed.

Breakfast time crazy I understood hotel was full. I think toast should be served with tea/ coffee as it was just mayhem at toaster. My seven year being of independent mind wanted to his own toast under my supervision but still managed to burn himself on toaster as toast got stuck. We did report what we thought was a restaurant manager but he thought there was no problem with toaster and no concern over my childs burn. There should be signs up no kids allowed to use toaster. A very nice male member of staff Aidan attended my child's burn and asked was there an accident report being filled out and we said no and Aidan he was going to look after it. He showed great concern and would like to thank him for that. But otherwise we had a very pleasant stay and would come back again Regards Linda and Alan Langton

When we arrived we checked in and put our bags in the room and decided to go down for something to eat there was loads of empty tables but all of them where full of dirty dinner plats so had to wait for a good while for someone to clean the table the food was cold there where only 5 people in the restraint so it not like they where ran off there feet.the room we were put in was the other side of the building it was like a maze to get to our room,the room was freezing so I rang reception to ask them to put on the heating they arrived to the door with an electric heater we paid enough for the room we taught they would put the heating on at least.i wouldnt stay in that hotel again if I got it for nothing dont waist your money book some where else.
