My woman wife and I chose the Clayton because of parking, location and some good reports. Boy were we disappointed with the hotel. Firstly the reception woman was very unhelpful. When we got to our room we found a large area of grouting missing from the tiles in the bathroom, no were to hang towels in the bathroom and to top it all off there was only luke warm water coming from the shower on the first day. I reported the lack of hot water to the same reception and was told it would be fixed, next day even worse. We told the same woman when leaving and she could not have cared less. The hotel could best be described as a tourist bus and business stop over hotel.

People in the room next door were making a lot of noise at 4:50 in the morning. Think it was a stag. Had to ring down reception. Still took a while to get them to shut up. In the morning they were knocking at the door that joins the rooms. It would have been perfect only for this. If they are letting stag parties stay they should be in a designated areas of the hotel so as not to disturb the other guests.

Not a lot Staff were unhelpful, food was not good, I ordered a drink with my food order and had to ask for it 3 times before I got it. The room had a connecting door so every sound that was made in the next room could be clearly heard. How this hotel is rated 4 star I dont know.I have stayed in 3 star hotels in Galway that are much better.

The bed was nice Remote control barely worked. The wired internet in the room didnt work. The room was freezing. The staff in the bar were terrible. There were 5 people behind the bar at one stage and it still took them at least 10 minutes to serve me. I actually couldnt belieive it.

It was a beautiful hotel and tasteful. Our stay was overshadowed by the attempted use of the pool. Our stay was overshadowed by the attempted use of the pool. It was very small and we were very abruptly advised by a pool attendant that we could not enter the water with no swiming caps.I Asked for the logic of this-she said to stop the vents blocking! However I pointed out my husband has no hair! She was still insisting we purchased one. \We did not use the pool. The breakfast was extremelly disorganised

I was persuaded to pay Euro 40 additional to have dinner included. The restaurant was closed and the menu at the bar showed that Euro 40 was twice as much as i would have spent had I paid for my meal separately. It is a typical hjotel rip-off

Overall facilities, location, parking were excellent. However, the cherry on top was the comfort of the beds - fantastic nights sleep! The only small issue I have from the family weekend was the advertised room layout. The family room had 2 doubled beds. In my experience (and I've stayed in few) a family room has 1 double and 2 single beds (2 singles may be 1 single + pull out /fold out bed). This was rectified on arrival, so no real issue really.
