Lovely bed and breakfast close to Sligo.
If staying longer wifi would be a requirement.
The food in the restaurant should be Michelin star rated, for taste & presentation it was more than excellent. The staff were at the top of their game as well & a beautiful big open fire just made it so cosy & the best atmosphere.
The only downside was the very squeaky door to the en suite & the light above the mirror in the bedroom wasn't working.
Staff were great, really helpful and attentive!! The open fire place in the bar is a real treat and they had a really great restaurant. Beautiful building and location and great value...would definitely stay again when over that neck of the woods.
Radiator was on low and couldnt turn it up...weather was starting to get chilly...but in fairness we never asked about it so they may well have been able to sort it. TV was blocked by the bed end so you couldn't see it, and it was quite far away in the room.
The mill is perfectly situated for a visit to the Carrokeels megalithic tombs.
Everything was good.
Cosy, private, quiet, romantic. Leave your phone and get away from lifes madness. Booked on a Thursday evening and had the place to ourselves, roaring fire, just what was needed.
Young owners Niall and Shauna mades us feel so welcome and helped us out no end when our car broke down. They really did bend over backwards to help us. On top of that the guesthouse is characterful, well presented, quiet and comfortable and the quality of the food served in the restaurant first class. Highly recommended.
Nothing at all
Nice place.good breakfast.
Squeaky floorboards.no coffee/tea making in room for 2 days.restaurant not open till Friday evening . no mention on web site.
bedroom needs refurbishment. They close their restaurant on a Sunday night, so guests staying over could go hungry unless they are prepared to go out.
The food! each item on our plates was so full of taste and really extra special, not just like the best food i serve at home. The old worldliness with the modern day comfort.
Nothing I didnt like. Just regretted that there wasn't an advertisement so huge on the Main road that everyone would come there.
The food/restaurant was excellent
Staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and wishes. An example of this was their willingness to provide our party of 4 with a full cooked breakfast on Sunday morning so that we could make an early departure.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
The guest house suited our party of 8 brilliantly as we could all stay in reasonably priced accommodation with easy access to N4 & all the places we wanted to visit without being stuck in the centre of Sligo. The breakfast was superb & beautifully presented.
Atmosphere, service, food, friendly staff.
Nothing comes to mind.
The quaint look of the place
Breakfast was poor, cleanliness was very poor
This is a beautiful building with lots of character. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The Bar & restaurant were lovely & the open fire was a gorgeous feature (even on a Summer evening).
would love to have stayed longer
Niall the proprietor was very helpful, friendly and professional.( even setup our sat nav for us) An excellent chef. The restaurant meal beautifully presented and delicious. The old Millhouse has been beautifully restored, a treat to stay there. The rooms very clean, comfy beds and lots of hot water! Would definitely go back again, a pleasure to stay there
Excellent friendly service. Great food. Excellent car parking. Reasonably priced.
Facilities could be upgraded e.g. separate shower. Room a bit dusty.
What staff there was were very polite and accommodating also the peace and quite.
The Mill was closed for a wedding taking place else where so most times there were no staff except breakfast where one person was available. Also walking around the bedroom all the floorboards would squeak and this became very annoying. The so called 4 poster bed had 4 pieces of 4 x 2 wood holding the canopy up and the location of the television meant if you wanted to watch tv from the bed you had a piece of 4 x 2 straight in front of your viewing area. not very well thought out!! The restaurant is only open Thursday to Saturday if eating in outside of this time you would need to go to the pub on the corner for a local meal or drive further a field. Finding the place wasn't the easiest of tasks as there is only one sign virtually on top of its location and we drove straight pass to begin with and had to double back.
Lovely family run Inn. Staff were incredible hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming. They even offered to pick us up ic we couldnt get a taxi! Very cosy rooms, great shower and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Can't recommend enough.
It's hard to criticise such lovely hosts but we were a bit bummed when the iron in our room stained my boyfriends shirt (we were off to a wedding and hadnt noticed that it was a bit rusty. That said, they were very apologetic and found a new iron for us right away.
Loved the atmosphere and the picturesque setting. Great staff and wonderful "Irish Breakfast" Will definitley stay there on my next visit to family in Ballymote. Highly recommend. Thankyou.
Everything was wonderful.
Normally I can't be bothered rating where I stay but I felt in this case I had to make and exception. From the time we arrived the service and friendliness of the staff was second to none.they just couldn't do enough for you. We were attending a wedding at nearby location and a staff member helped us with taxi numbers etc.He told us that taxis are a bit hit and miss in the area and if we had any bother with a taxi home to give the guesthouse a ring. Our taxi did indeed let us down and after a quick ring another member came to nearby hotel to pick us up..even tho it was 3 o'clock in morning. The breakfast next mornin was homemade and perfect..I can honestly say I cannot fault one aspect of my stay at the guesthouse and I cannot recommend it highly enough, and wouldn't think twice about stayin again if I was in location. A big thanks to all the staff..you are doin a great job!!
Super friendly staff, beautiful rooms, amazingly clean, gorgeous breakfast, comfortable beds, breathtaking views & bar on site, what's not to like?
Small bit out of the way but more than makes up for it with its beautiful surroundings and gorgeous rooms.
The room was comfortable.
The heat went off at 10 pm and didn't come back on until we were ready to leave.
food is decent and staff are very accomodating.
no one to meet us and we were waiting ages to be seen, The room was freezing when we got there as was the whole building. The bedrooms was obviously not cleaned properly from the people before us - hair all on the floor and in the shower and cotton bud in the bathroom. no play area for child not a nice stay and i would not return under any circumstances.
The welcome we received upon our arrival and friendliness during our stay. Fabulous breakfast , cooked to order with high quality ingrediants. Also the guesthouse and its surroundings were so peaceful , a great nights sleep .
There was a ? Smell of drains upon arrival. But this receded .
