colour and space
indiscretional, unprofessional, cold room,
I appreciated the position, not far from the city centre and near public transport, and the decor of the bedroom. The room was quite and the staff always nice.
The worst thing of the room was the bathroom: it had no heating so taking a shower became a nightmare and was definitively bare. I think they can improve that. Two other minor things are the tv (with just 6 channels) and the breakfast smell that is all over the building in the morning (although not in the room, unless you open the door).
The room window
Though there was traffic at busy times it did not wake us and the hotel is in a quiet area but a short walk to O'Connell Street with places of interest very near by, along with bus stops. The breakfast was very good and cooked to order and well worth £4 booked in advance. The beds are very good, deep mattresses and the rooms heated. Shower cubicles small but good hot showers.
No complaints, would stay there again plus we got a loyalty card for a future discount.
The shower, I couldn't turn on it with a quantity of water enough to take a shower then I had to take a shower in the bath (what it was better)
Location +++; Staff was very friendly; Breakfast awesome and tasty, all in all a good choice
no complains at all
The room and the comfy beds
I find the bathroom too small. I could hardly bend down or pick anything from the floor. That should be looked into.
everything was perfect
- staff were helpful in everything and very friendly - I left a book in my room and it was mailed to me (abroad) - proper Irish breakfasts with eggs, sausages, beans and toasts - no problem with getting an electric socket adapter
- increased prices because of WebSummit conference, although all hotels did that, so I can't blame Clifden House
The hotel is located in the city center, it can be reached easily by walk or by public transport (airport shuttle bus stops in the nearby). The room was clean and nice, the bed was really comfortable.
Walls are thin, you can hear sometimes the neighbours.
Special request granted which was a surprise, made my weekend to see both a happy boyfriend and mum. Thank you very much Clifden House.
The bed was really comfortable. Adequate size for my needs.
Shower was not very good (strange angle of the shower head and only let out a trickle of water anyway). Curtains were a struggle to close - they didn't seem to move along the tracks. A bit further out from most things than I anticipated.
The hotel is just off the top of O'Connell street so not far from everything!.however I'd recommend getting a cab at night. The hotel is lovely and modern and nicely decorated..The bed was ginormous and super comfy!.tv and tea making facilities and some biscuits!.tiny bathroom but that didn't bother us at all..staff were lovely and super helpful!.great price and would stay here again!
spacious room comfortable bed clean
can be a little noisy

The Clifden House was horrible. My husband & I went to Ireland for a 9 day vacation in October 2014. Our first night stay was in Dublin and at the Clifden House, however, after arriving we promptly checked out! First & foremost, the neighborhood was a complete slum. I would fear for my life to walk down the street. The car park was so tiny, it was useless. The room was filthy, including was looked like black mold in the bathroom shower. The door to the room also didn't lock appropriately. We luckily ended up finding a great hotel in Naas, Ireland and the rest of the trip was flawless. I hope no one else gets scammed into the illusion of the internet like we did. The posted pics look like they were stolen from another website.
Good location, close to city centre but very quiet. Good breakfast.
Unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom from time to time.
Good location (only a 5 minute walk from O'Connell street). Very friendly staff. Clean, modern rooms. Complimentary wifi. Off street parking for €10 per day.
The 72 stairs to bed....killer!!
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to arrange shower facilities for me after completing the marathon which was appreciated. Just a stones throw to de city centre.
The shower space was a little small for tall people but other than that it was a great stay.
staff, room, breakfast..
staff very attentive with customers personal foarte amabil si prietenos
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I had to print some stuff and they helped me with that. Also very welcoming giving me guidance on places were to eat around.
There is no lift and walking to the 3rd floor can be a little bit exhausting.
