Room clean, staff friendly, recently refurbished, excellent location Walls are thin, could hear next doors conversation & night time activities. Should have a 'kid free' floor as kids up & running about screaming at 7ish isn't much fun if you've had a late night

The location was absolutely great, on the beach, and great facilities. Great for children. I thought the rooms were a bit "jaded". The bed linen was very old. The food in restaurant was not as good as they said it was going to be and not value for money. The breakfast was not edible, cooked too long, and it was not at last minute that we went for it.

Great location with lovely sea views. This hotel is very old and run down. Everything is dated, musty and in need of upgrading. I've never come across a more unmotivated, unfriendly staff. We were travelling with a one year old and only the lady at check in was friendly. No one else smiled or said hello. In spite of this we enjoyed the lovely beach on the doorstep and availed of the soft play area in the leisure centre and enjoyed our holiday.

Location is excellent if you want to either just relax on the beach or go travelling around to take in the beautiful scenery. Staff were very pleasant The hotel is a bit run down but obviously freshly painted and very clean. Staff were very pleasant but not overly friendly. No bar menu though you can get pizza until 10 at night - not great for us as we dont eat pizza and the restaurant is a bit expensive to eat there every night.

I am just back from a weekend at Clonea Strand Hotel and would highly recommend it. I was there with my husband and two girls who are aged 4 and 6 and they loved all the activities at the hotel. The hotel is right on the beach which is fantastic. The hotel is very child friendly and we will definately be returning. Rooms are a bit old fashioned and could do with a bit of updating but having said that they do serve there purpose.

The beach was really nice and the swimming pool was great..our room had a open deck so we were able to go out onto it and have the whole sea view. If you are just looking to get away from it all with no shops this is the place. Dungarvan is about a ten euro taxi drive which has the shops and restaurants etc.

The location is great, right by Clonae Beach and not far from the wonderful town of Dungarvan. The hotel is very tired and is in need of a full renovation. A circus came to the field opposite in the very early hours of the morning to set up and the commotion and noise made sure we didn't get much sleep. That was rather unfortunate. Most of the staff seemed to be "over it", so not many smiles and not the warm welcome that guests were promised to receive according to the resort's brochure. All in all an "ok" trip.

The location is fantastic and the breakfast is good. Staff are lovely also. Its a crying shame to see a hotel with such potential waste it all - perfect candidate for 'The Hotel Inspector'!! The hotel is extremely old-fashioned, carpets thread bare, sheets off colour, nothing whatsoever luxurious about it. It has such potential if only they addressed these issues. Weather was lovely during our stay so we were out all day but i can't imagine staying indoors there all day.

Management was extra helpful and pleasant. Room view was superb as was the room itself. Easy drive to Dungarvan. Remember to take directions to the hotel. Without them you will drive around for a bit. We found "Tom Tom" navigation device hopeless here.

Location and view Bathroom and furniture dated - could do with investment - has huge potential with location - could charge more if upgraded - but can understand reluctance to invest in current climate

Management and staff were very accommodating. This hotel is extremely family friendly with plenty of amenities for children. Family rooms were spacious and comfortable with sea views. The food was excellent - best steak we've had in any hotel. Also - you have to try their Irish Coffees! I wish it was closer to Dublin but it's well worth the journey.

On arrival we found the staff most pleasant. We checked into our room and found a bad leak with the window which was probably due to the heavy rain that day. We returned to the checkin desk and the staff without hesitation upgraded us, it was very good of them as bank holiday weekend can be busy and we did appreciate them sorting out the problem straight away. We would definately stay there again.
