We had a fantastic stay at the Creevagh Heights over a February weekend. The room was lovely. The food was great. The local scenery was beautiful, particularly Downpatrick Head. The real highlight of our stay though were our hosts, Carol & Harry. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived right up until we were waved off on the morning we left. Nothing was ever too much hassle, they provided us with tips on all the local sights and even had a warm fire ready for us when we got back from a day out. This is how a B & B should be run and I cannot recommend it enough!
A romantic stunning coastal location near Ceide Fields and the Mullet Peninsula. Our room had a great view and there is a comfortable sitting room with hot drinks and cookies always available. The hosts could not have been more gracious and are very knowledgable about the area. Restaurants are not nearby but dinner is available at the B and B if requested.
This B and B is out of the way but was exactly the kind of get a way we wanted.
Such a great location, such wonderful service, such nice people! Very little restaurant activity in the area, so take advantage of the available dinner service. You won't be disappointed! Top all that off with a fresh-cut rose on the vanity shelf.
I stayed here as the last night of a 2 week cycling tour, due to a broken tent pole scrapping my camping plans! The house itself was lovely, well decorated and very pleasant to be in - there was a large living room with a big tv but also books and comfortable furniture - it felt very much like a home than a cold guesthouse space. The hosts were fantastic, welcoming me, offering to lock my bike in the garage and being incredibly accomodating. I had dinner after my arrival and it was fantastic; I just had a soup and sandwich but it was restaurant quality, and another couple staying (which I chose to eat with as we had been talking), had the proper dinner, which was Lobster and they told me it was also fantastic. There was a good wifi connection throughout the house and the room and en-suite were incredibly clean and comfortable. Defintitely reccomended! The location of the guesthouse was perfect for me; a 1 hour cycle to Ballina (so probably 15 minute drive or so) and only 20 minutes from Downpatrick Head, a stunning bit of coastline that's well worth a visit.
Carol and Harry might have been the sweetest hosts we had in all our Ireland trip. We came in at a very stormy night. Despite the weather the place was super cozy and homely. At our arrival Carol offered us coffee, tea, homemade breads and cakes. Our room was small, but that didn't matter to us. It was extremely clean and had a private bath room (despite us having booked a room with a shared bathroom, Carol proposed us an upgrade). Breakfast was perfect, and so were Harrys tips about sightseeing the surroundings. The house is lovely, lies in a very quiet place and provides an exceptional sea-view. All in all : perfect! Thank you for that nice stay. Best wishes, David&Linda
I guess the headline says it all, plain amazing folks, landscape and B&B! Greets from Germany
Superb location and spotlessly clean accommodation. Most pleasing of all was the cordiality of my hosts.
Proprietors could not have been more helpful with gracious hospitality and in showcasing the history and geographical splendors of the area.
beautiful surroundings extremely friendly, caring hosts superb room excellent food
The house is in a beautiful area with spectacular views of the Atlantic. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and enjoyed the scones and tea. Our breakfast choice was first class and varied. We had dinner one evening and it was delicious and beautifully presented. We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time, thanks to Carol and Harry.
There is not a single thing that we did not like about Creevagh Heights so we are finding it difficult to write in this column!!
Comfortable, stunning location, charming hosts and a massive breakfast!
Ubicación increíble, trato excelente, todo exquisitamente cuidado al detalle, el mejor desayuno de nuestro viaje, Carol y Harry un amor, un encanto, nos dio pena estar sólo un día. Excellent situation, exquisit treatment, wonderful landscape and house. Carol and Harry, the hosts, are a lovely and caring couple. Best breakfast ever had. It was sad to be there just for one day...so, we'll be back soon. Highly recommended!!!!!! Gemma and José
There are so many positive things to say that it is hard to know where to start. Carol and Harry were wonderful hosts. They were always available, attentive but never intrusive. The house is immaculately presented, the views (or should I say the panorama) are stunning and the surrounding area is full of interesting sites and secret escapes. We were fortunate to book three nights and sample three delicious breakfasts - they almost looked too good to eat. We also ate dinner at the house and it was exquisite. We would thoroughly recommend this bed and breakfast. We had a great time and would definitely visit again. In addition, Carol and Harry have great, personal knowledge of the area so it is well worth heeding their advice on places to see. Thanks for everything!
Everything was above expectation. The hosts were just amazing.
l'accueil excellent Sympathie des hôtes Leurs conseils touristiques La diversité des breakfast Le cadre Excellent welcome Nice hosts Tourist good advice The B§B is set in beautiful surroundings. The diversity of breakfast
Breathtaking seaview from the lounge, the dining room and some sleeping rooms. Structure recently renewed. The owners really know how to treat customers
All is exceptional ! Carol and Harry are formidable ! The breakfast is the must !
Great, secluded, off-the-beaten-path location. Wonderful hosts. Beautiful view. Clean, modern home. Perfect. Can't wait for the chance to go back.
That I couldn't stay longer.
Wonderful location, very friendly couple, excellent food, really enjoyed our stay.
The Ella room was very small but compact.
Friendly hosts, superb views & beautifully furnished, very comfortable & great chat with hosts & guests. Location amazing.
Bit out of the way, but is also a positive as views & location are out of this world.
We had a most welcome arrival from Carole and Harry in their comfortable and elegant home. It was thoughtful to have a late homemade snack made available on arrival in addition to great local knowledge and tastes! It felt like home and we were sorry not to have stayed longer!
Very welcoming owners, excellent breakfast, spectacular view. Much to see in the area, wish I could have stayed longer.
Can't think of anything!
Beautiful home setting in a very remote scenic part of Ireland. Hospitality exceptional after a long drive to be greeted with home made scones and tea. Gourmet meals beautifully prepared.
Blue bedroom a little cramped as we had two suitcases. A sliding door to bathroom would suit this room. The address should read Ballycastle took a little time discovering the location.
I loved my stay here. I stopped for 1 night whilst travelling the Wild Atlantic Way. It is quite a remote setting, but fortunately the directions provided filled in for the Sat Nav which was clueless. I arrived late and Carol very kindly made me a toasted BLT which was fantastic. It should be difficult to get excited about a sandwich but genuinely it was glorious, the bun was lightly toasted, the honey and mustard dressing was just perfect. Harry & Carol made me feel right at home and left me to watch the football in the guests lounge which after a days driving was a great way to unwind. The next morning breakfast carried on the precedent of fantastic food set the previous evening, it was definitely the best Breakfast I had on my tour round Ireland. For anyone travelling the Wild Atlantic Way this B&B is a must stop. It's a bit outside Ballina very close to Downpatrick's head & Ceide Fields which are stops you really should make!!
