Ballsbridge Inn

The staff really went out of their way to assist you with anything. The home-cooked breakfast was just delicious! Free internet was great. A great place to stay.

It was convenient to the city buses outside but also walkable. Room was good size, 2 adults 1 child. Very comfortable. The delicatesen was wonderful we recommend the small breakfast roll at €2.49 which contained 4 items of breakfast in a baguette, didn't need anything all day.

The only thing I would say is that the rooms were too hot even end of October which previous reviews had said, they just need to turn heating down because we needed the windows open which was slightly noisy, not that it stopped us sleeping.

The room was too warm with no facility to alter this. Having requested before hand a safe deposit box this prove a lengthy process to organised. We did not use it as we were given no code or key that ensured we were the only ones who could access it.

The restaurant food was awful.....couldn't eat it and was charged circa €30 for it. Very poor choice of menu. The only other alternative was pizza and as a coeliac that choice of food was totally off the menu for me

Ballsbridge Inn is located in Dublin 4 which is an ideal location for touring the city or visiting the US Embassy across the road. The bus to the airport stops directly in front of the hotel. The price of the room was ideal for us as we were only in Dublin to take care of an outdated passport; however, I would not like to stay here if it was a special occasion.

The rooms need to be updated. The wallpaper was very dingy and dirty looking. Paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bedroom and there was mildew on the ceiling in the bathroom. However, the bed linen, towels, carpet and baths were clean. So it was obvious that the staff were doing there job.

The green mould in the bathroom, The fact we were given a smoking room - the smell!!! Uniforms of the staff member that checked us in had his dinner on it or something. I had to ask to be moved, we were given a room with two double bed. I asked for a family room - I don't want to share a bed with my children, I don't expect them to share a bed with me.

Convenient shop as part of the complex means you're not forced into having expensive breakfast from the restaurant.

Location excellent for exploring Dublin city

Were given a smoking room despite booking non-smoking, did not realise in a country with strict smoking ban that you could still smoke in hotel rooms. Was moved to non-smoking though. Bathrooms not as hygienic is one would wish for as we found hair from previous occupier in bath! All round cheap and cheerful.

Friendly & vibrant atmosphere, fantastic access to city centre even by foot. Accommodated special requests - eg. early morning breakfast for marathon runners. Quiet at night-time.

Room was bit unclean. Family room was not as described on website & as booked by me - didn't have pull-out sofa, would have been very useful for children's sleeping arrangements.

The young man who served us food in the bar could have been a little more friendly and breakfast is just a little on the expensive side

We liked the convienience and value for money of the shuttle bus provided to take us to the o2 arena.

We did not appreciate cleaners knocking at the door at 8am demanding to know when we would be vacating the room as they wanted to start cleaning. Staff should wait until customers have checked out first as this was very rude!!
