The Dalton has a lovely atmosphere and nothing is a problem to the staff. Clean, warm and affordable and excellent food. Look out for Mary that serves breakfast, she's a gem!
Having to get up before nine o clock to feed the parking meter . Hotel should have an arrangement with the local authority.
Didn't like fact that there was no central heating in bedroom
Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel very nice.
Being kept awake for hours by young people shouting outside on street and very loud music.
Very welcoming nice staff enjoyed my stay at the dalton Inn.
There was'nt anything
Very comfortable and clean. Good centre of town location. Good value for money.
Everything in the Dalton. Food is Just to Die For.
nice,friendly staff and lovely food
no heating enough!!!!!!!!!
Room very small
... Food was good & price
Bathroom/toilet too small area. Do away with bath & make more room for toilet.
The friendly staff, the comfortable bed and the central location.
Parking issues. The lack of rte1 (not able to watch the good wife!) . The broken window may be a problem in the winter......
Nice room Huge bed!
Above chip shop, near night club, people of Claremorris obviously know how to party.Very noisy til 4.30 am ish. Couldn't turn shower water temperature down, too hot to wash my hair, came out looking like a boiled prawn! Only instant coffee at breakfast to my husband,s horror. Front desk unmanned despite call bell when leaving, had to retrieve bar man to pay. No where to park, anxiety about car safety in back road with all the night time revellers
Most of stay was gud, room was quite small and basic but quite reasonable
Breakfast(fry)was terrible extremely small with skittery wee sausages,so only had breakfast once in the 3 days, other food looked quite good tho
the bar downstairs had good food and was nice
the room was noisy - curtains inadequate for sloping windows-
A very friendly atmosphere and staff that were very willing to please. The hotel is situated in a very nice town.
Parking, parking parking. The council clearly needs revenue and you need clients alas most of whom arrive by car. I think you should talk to the council. Either you could waive the parking charge or the council should.
we loved the large comfy bed and the food was good.the night porter was very helpful and pleasant
our window was blown and shame that carparking was limited
Room was well set out with all facilities. Beds were quite comfortable.
Lack of options on car parking. Did not offer gluten free meals or bread for clients suffering from ceoliac disease.
location, value for money
no hotel car park
Had guests staying at hotel they were very disappointed with the rooms
Friendly staff and a great breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
Breakfast was nice and service was friendly in the restaurant. Hotel looks quite nice from outside and the bar and restaurant look quite good. Location is good in the centre of Claremorris next to a lot of shops, pubs and cafes.
The room I stayed in is very old and worn, it also smells very 'fusty' and is in urgent need of a revamp. The carpets were worn and filthy. The bathroom is very small with the sink outside next to the bed. It is very noisy on the corner of a busy junction, made worse by the window needing to be open due to the smell and stuffy room. It’s never a great sign when there is an electric heater and de-humidifier in a hotel room. Upon checking out I paid with a credit card and requested to be charged in Euros as my provider doesn’t charge any foreign transaction fees. A sterling amount then came up on the machine and when I said that I wanted it changed to Euros I was told it would definitely be charged in Euros and my card provider would carry out the conversion. On checking my credit card bill I was charged in sterling at the hotel merchant’s rate. This cost me approximately €5 based on the rate I was getting on transactions the same day. Not a huge amount but very annoying considering I specifically requested to be charged Euros. People with non-euro credit cards should be aware of this. Overall while the room was cheaper than some other hotels it is not good value considering the poor state of the hotel and I am convinced that there are a lot of fake reviews as a lot of the positive reviews I have read are misleading. I feel this is a fair and honest review of the hotel and think it would be hard for any genuine guest to disagree with what I have wrote.
bathroom little on small side
Staff so friendly and professional
Room was dreadful. No 8. Should definitely only be a single room. Sink in the bedroom. Bedroom carpet stained and grubby.
Close to the west. Friendly & helpfull staff.
Not suitable for elderly people. No lift to upstairs rooms. No self service breakfast.
Staff very friendly and ready to help with any queries or random stuff that us Irish often do !Polite and helpful to our friends who were staying down the road .Would recommend to any one visiting local places .Train station quite close as well .
Evening meals are very basic and felt the chief was very heavy handed with the balsamic on the salad we had .Menu needs new life and more choices .
Just a lovely place to stay. The staff were great. Will stay again.Thank you xx
