The room was absolutely freezing, every window in the room bathroom and hall open on arrival. After I closed all the windows was still freezing.
No reception, no one there on arrival, went into the bar waited 10-15 mins no one still, so went into the restaurant part and a waitress told us to go to the desk there. A member of staff checked us in while she talked back to staff in the kitchen about how knackered they were.
Went over to the guest house front door do heavy impossible to open while carrying a case. Left our stuff in and went off to hill of Tara and newgrange.
Came back to get ready put in electricity card and TV came on very loud on tg4, could not find the remote to to turn down or change channel, had to ring across from our own phone and they said someone would come over with remote(no buttons on the TV itself)
Staff came over continued to quiz us about the remote as if we had takin it, brought over two tht still didn work and that was the last we seen of him.
Went to iron our clothes, ironing board supplied, no iron.
Very hard to get showered and dressed in the freezing room. Could not use the wifi in our room as it didn pick up there and couldn't use 3G as no signal so got ready in silence.
Had one drink in dalys bar , headed to town for dinner and a drink. Came back stil no heating, no wifi , no TV,
Wrapped the extra blankets around me under the duvet to sleep and spent the whole night awake coughing and sneezing. I have asthma and my guess was that dust was causing this problem for me.
This is the first bad review I have ever given and I stay in many hotels around Ireland and a road and regularly use booking.com.
The accom was 55€ not steep but don't say that there is wifi, TV, an iron if there's not.
Staff big let down also.
Place needs heat, walls are like paper do I'm guessing bad insulation.
Was close to newgrange. Only 6km from drougheda.
