With a swimming pool and gym, the historic Breaffy House Hotel and Spa is on 90 acres of forest. Just outside Castlebar, it is less than a 5-minute drive from the center of town.

Score from 154 reviews Wonderful
location, comfort and helpful staff. good value foe money, food excellent
t v station selection not very good , no r t e 1 reception, faulty door closure which allowed door to move causing noise in windy conditions
The staff were very nice and friendly, room was spotless, service was good, price was right.
Ingress to the car park is not clear. There is a horrible feng shui problem in the lobby/restaurant area. Bad placing of furniture and the screen/convex couch idea is just wrong. No possibility of getting cash with a foreign debit card and had to go to the garage across the street. The access from the hotel to the theatre would be a problem for the disabled. Next time I would stay in the adjoining hotel.
Room very comfortable. Have stayed a number of times over the years. This time we had booked theatre tickets for a show nearby so it was ideal.
Waiting for table at breakfast and then waiting for bread etc to be put out. A plethora of late arrivals should be expected as the norm on a Sunday morning and staffing arrangements put in place, sufficient food should also be ready. Do all the sausages have to be deep fried??? Guest information should be updated to reflect network cable/and or deposit not required for internet. I felt a bit foolish being told I didn't need one when handed a sheet of paper with a pass code. Are these comments read by the hotel?
warm room clean spacious room good appliances good reception area great breakfast location
more information leaflets for the reception but wasn't a big deal cant say I had anything I didn't like
very refreshing modern decor . very friendly staff . wheelchair accessible
Location Cleanliness Shower head Breakfast Car parking facilities Colour scheme in bedroom Proximity to Westport
Dining room staff who refused to smile in welcome View from room 308 - unto waste ground and rubbish Hard uncomfortable pillows Foyer and bar as one! Cramped atmosphere throughout - not conducive to relaxation

My room guest been stopped when leaving hotel and told not welcome again in hotel. This was by night security. Appalling because of my boyfriends background travelling comunity. Was asked what he had in his bag and eveeything
Clean and modern
No atmosphere in the bar
Not pushed on the open plan dining room, bar and foyer. Would like a nice bar area.
The first lady/staff member we met was at reception booking in and she was really nice. Sorry I did'nt take her name to pass it on to her bosses -she had long dark hair, young and with a great smile- There were six of us and we had a lovely time at the hotel. Bright, clean, fun/funky and all the staff were lovely. The breakfast next morning was lovely and again the staff could'nt have been nicer. Would stay there again and would hightly recommend anyone to stay there.
Looked very nice
Our room was a bit out dated
the bar area..or lack of it , like sitting in a ladies hairdressing salon
Very comfortable beds!
Loved the decor, the room was fab.
The restaurant was vv busy. Plus it cost an extra 15euro for late check out eventhough i had prior requestd it at booking i wasnt informd of the extra cost prior to arrival.
clean comfortable nice rooms
No Wifi Wouldn't accept vouchers despite stating beforehand that they do
Hotel in town centre. very clean, friendly staff. bathroom had new towels, very clean hotel recommended a taxi company Lynx, who were very reasonable, and friendly.
room decor was a bit "tatty" head board was leatherette, and was torn. there is no separate bar, just a dispense bar, to have your drinks in the foyer.
Great location, nice staff, comfy beds & large rooms !!
poor wi fi in rooms
Décor .comfortable bed
Connected room with loud guests:( restaurant fully booked:(
Upgraded to a lovely king size suite
A lot of noise from road and bar/restaurant below No aircon in room
Great spacious rooms. Modern lobby and restaurant. Staff friendly
Food just okay I really hate it when you have to make your own toast I can do that at home expect more from a hotel. Location was close to town and shopping but a bit close to main road.
A most pleasant visit and an excellent meal was had on one evening.
Nice resaraurant , nice room 30 euro a night extra,
No swimming or leisure , or entertainment ,
The extraordinary willingness of the front desk staff to go out of their way to help guests - I have given the example of holding "last orders" in the restaurant, I might add their willingness to research a local exhibition in which I was interested.and to come up with an answer within minutes! The quality over all is very high, especially in the restaurant where the cuisine could match any of its Belgian counterparts. One gets the impression of a well organised hotel which retains the human touch.
In my many sejourns at the Harlequin I have never hasd a negative experience. I can whole heartedly recommend it.
