This hotel, only 9 miles from Dublin city and airport, features Ireland's largest golf complex.

H.G. Wells described the uninterrupted vista of spectacular coastline as 'the finest view west of Naples'.

The Deer Park Hotel Golf & Spa is set in 450 acres of tranquil parkland overlooking the sea near the picturesque fishing village of Howth. The hotel is situated in the grounds of Howth Castle and surrounded by its own 4 golf courses. Cliff paths lead around the coastline, through Howth village and its ruined abbey, and past Baily Lighthouse. Howth's pubs, fine food and charming character make it a pleasant outing from Dublin. The hotel is situated in Howth Castle Demesne, home to the famous Rhododendron Gardens which are a spectacular sight when in flower during late April, May and June.

Hotel information

Deer Park Hotel Golf & Spa is a 3-star hotel located in Howth and within easy access of Dublin city centre and airport. The hotel has 75 en suite bedrooms, most with superb views overlooking the sea and/or golf courses. In addition to its own golf courses on site, the hotel also has pitch and putt, spa, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and tennis courts.

Food & beverage

Deer Park has its own restaurant offering a frequently changing menu complemented by an extensive wine list. The menu choice includes fresh fish from the local Howth harbour.
Our Bistro serves light snacks throughout the day and bar food is also available in our main bar which has magnificent views over the golf courses and Dublin Bay.

Room information

Deer Park has 75 bedrooms, all en suite. Most rooms have superb views overlooking the coastline and/or the golf courses. Rooms are situated on the ground floor and 1st floor; no lift is available so please specify if you prefer ground floor accommodation.

Area information

Deer Park is just 9 miles from Dublin city centre and about 20 minutes from Dublin airport.

From the hotel, a walk of approximately 15 to 20 minutes will take you into the picturesque fishing village of Howth, where you will find numerous restaurants and pubs. You can watch the fishermen landing their catch and watch as the resident seal family are fed each day. During the summer months boat trips are available to nearby Ireland's Eye. On Sunday mornings a trip to the local market is very worthwhile. There are many lovely walks which one can take around the peninsula.

The staff where excellent.Friendly.food was very good.

beautiful setting, scenery and close to surrounding towns. very nice staff and good breakfast.

a bit noisy in the morning, kettle had to be filled with bottle as it's stuck to wall, no hairdryer, and no window blind for privacy on ground floor.

The grounds and view were very pleasant.

The room stank of cigarettes and sweat -despite my requesting non smoking. It would appear the hotel has seen better days and is in need of a makeover.

The wonderful view!

The standard of food was very low and teh staff , although friendly, were very causual - e.g 'Come on' was the term used by waiter showing me to my table. Ordered a red wine and asked what was poured for me and was told that I was given the most popular - no choice given! In addition I read in publicity there was fresh fish from the harbour - the only fish on the menu was farmed fish

Good position - just outside fishing village of Howth, and near to central Dublin (25 minutes or so) by Dart train. Pleasant tranquil rural location.

Without a car, there is a very long walk up the drive to the hotel. The banging of doors in the hotel seems to reverberate through the building.

Le site et la vue, la piscine.

1) La chambre : mauvaise odeur (cigarette?), poignées de meubles manquantes, peinture écaillée, 3 ceintres sur 5 inutilisables.... 2) L'accueil à la salle de Gym : mal élevée ou simplement mal lunée ce jour là ?

le calme de l endroit

malheureusement dans ce lieu qui devait etre calme, le radiateur inreglable faisait beaucoup de bruit, ainsi que le refrigerateur indebranchable dans la chambre, dommage.
