Stayed at the Dergvale for one night. Very close to O'Connell street but in a slightly run down back street. Don't be put off by the appearence from the outside. The rooms are quite small and basic, but very clean. Would recommend as a budget hotel or even for use on business (my use). Bus tickets can be purchased from the shop across the road and the shuttle bus from the airport drops off on O'Connell street just a two minute walk from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again if travelling on my own - perhaps not if I was with wife and/or family.

Excellent location: 5 minute walk from O'Connell Street, the main street in Dublin as well as where all the buses converge; less than 25 minute walk to anywhere in the city. Very friendly staff, and if like me you have to leave before dawn (~4:30 AM for me), they'll arrange for your breakfast to be ready at the designated time and call a taxi for you, as well as a wake-up call. It's not the cheapest in Dublin but quite cheap compared to most hotels located that close to the City Centre. The matress was a bit unconfortable on the first night, but after that I got used to it and it was fine.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. It is close to the city center and close to Temple Bar (15 - 20 min) - nice area you can walk home at night. Clean rooms and good breakfast (recommended). We had a twin bed room without bathroom and we were on the last floor, the shared bathroom is two floors down - it is better to choose a room with toilet.

Very convenient for Dublin centre (O'Connel Street). Good price. An earlier breakfast would be beneficial as the 07.45 earliest time makes a journey across Dublin to Heuston station, for example, rather rushed.

The staff are very welcoming. The location is very near city centre. Rooms are extremely clean. The noise from other rooms can be heard easily. The breakfast is a bit sparse for an Irish accommodation, no black/white pudding.

The hotel is family run and very friendly, it was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The location is in a prime area as O'Connell Street is a 3 minute walk. There are no restrictions on the time you get in at night and the customer service is great. I will stay at this hotel again for the price and location and I would recommend to my friends.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. We did not expect a luxury hotel but all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. I just wish I had asked for the location of the bar in the hotel before we were leaving. It looked like a nice place to spend an hour in the evening.

Reception staff were very willing to assist with bookings for the theatre, taxi, hop on hop off bus etc. Although no tea making facilities staff were willing to provide this in the lounge on request at no extra charge. It is in a good location for central city exploring.

I regard calling the breakfast that we had "a full Irish breakfast" as a laugh..2 of the tiniest sauages, 1 rasher of bacon and either a poached, fried or scrambled was a very poor description especially reading the other breakfasts on offer walking down through O'Connell St.

Although this hotel is not in perhaps the most attractive part of Dublin it is central to all amenties and attractions, and for the price is excellent value. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really good, and the room I had was very quiet. I had an excellent nights sleep. I will certainly stay here again and recommend it to all my friends.

Very nice staff; nice full irish breakfast; when we were leaving in early morning (4 am) we were really greatful that they made for us a koffee + cornflakes + toast with some butter an jam + juice; perfect location - just 10 minutes walk to city center; bus from airport (16a, 41) just behind a corner (Upper Dorset street); nice lounge with Guinness for a great price (just 4.30 EUR). In general we really liked it and would go there again. Of course it's not luxury but it's a great value for the money.

“The location was good and the rooms quite spacious. The breakfast was good. There was a concierge available at all times to help us out, which was great. This was pretty good, given the low cost of the room compared to others we have paid for in large cities.” Mary, Wanniassa |
