This bed and breakfast is located 5 miles from central Dublin and there is a bus stop close by with regular services to the city, the airport and freey port. The Donnybrook is within walking distance of a number of excellent restaurants and Elm Park Golf Course is just a 5-minute walk away. The RDS is one mile away. The location is a very quiet suburban area, on a busy bus route, 15 minutes outside Dublin City Centre, there was a cooked breakfast every morning, en suite nice shower, big bedroom, nice and polite, pleasant people. If you like the idea of living in your bedroom for the whole of you stay with no access to any other part of the B & B and no staff staying on site, not much choice of breakfast on offer then this is the place for you, also the sheets aren't changed until you leave.

The location is ideal in relation to the city centre - right on a main bus route to the city and easy drive in too. When I checked in, the room was not entirely clean. I found jars of food in one of the cupboards from the previous lodger. Also, some rubbish was still in the room. I ended cleaning it before I moved in myself. The advert for the Lodge also stated free wifi. I was told when checking in that it was down and repairers were coming to fix it. I wasn't convinced as I felt the wifi was non-existent. I say this because I stayed at a sister lodge of Donnybrook Lodge & I was told the same story upon check-in!

Staff were friendly. Free wi-fi The location is a bit way out from the city centre. Had I known I would have chosen something better. The breakfast was really really poor. Rather exclude breakfast altogether than including soething that sloppy. I wouldnt call a bit of cornflakes and milk, a small tub of yoghurt and juice a breakfast. I didnt even bother with the do-it-yourself coffee as in europe I am used to fiter coffee. The room (room no 9) was really tiny, and the wall paper thin, so much so that I didnt switch on my tv in cae I disturbed the neighbours. The one morning I could even hear the groans of hte neighbours getting it on. Lol.

The shower and towels were good. Breakfast was adequate but impersonal. Location was perfect for us as we were going to a funeral in Clonskeagh. Mattresses were poor. Carpet floor felt dirty and smelly. Place did not feel clean. There was a bad smell in the rooms and toilet. Chewing gum stuck to bedside locker. Floor unvacuumed. Price was cheap but we were sorry we had not booked two rooms for the same price in Bewley's Hotel where the rooms would have been of a much higher standard even though we would not have got breakfast (55 euros per room so actually cheaper than the 116 we paid). We will never stay in Donnybrook Lodge again. I apologized to my family for bringing them there.

Nothing..... This is not a B&B, this is a very bad hostel. While the guy in charge was nice and helpful this place is a no go for anyone wanting a comfortable, clean place to stay. It was filthy, out dated and in serious need of an overhaul. When I booked it, it said B&B and clearly stated that it included a full 'English' breakfast, however when we booked in we were told it was a continental breakfast which would be left outside out door. This consisted of two small 'kids' cereal, two small cartons of orange juice, two small yogurts and a small carton of milk..The curtains were hanging off the rail, the bathroom was filthy, covered in stains.. and the rest of the bedroom was so dirty you were afraid to touch anything. We had to pay on arrival which I can understand now having seen the bedroom, no one in their right mind would pay for this after seeing it. Only good thing about the place was location, directly across the road from the RTE studios, could be such a booming business if the owners just put in some money in to it. Do not stay here, regardless of location..

Terrable place, with rooms like a box bedroom in your house, no staff around the place, breakfast served as cereal on a tray simply left on the floor outside your bedroom door, and no option of the badly reviewed frys! Dirty, old musky damp rooms, which smell stay away from this place

The room had no basic toiletries on arrival. If you expect a breakfast it was left on a tray at the bedroom door. The place was clean and warm but there your home comforts end. Not a place to revisit, experience best forgotten.

Location is good. Arriving after 9.30 pm may be a problem, as nobody is at the desk. They leave a number to call. Luckily, we rang the bell and somebody answered.

Near the city centre and transportation. Dirty, more dirty and extra-dirty. We had extra bonus an earplug on the floor. The breakfast was served on the floor outside the rooms door.

It was convenient for travel into Dublin where I was working, It was inexpensive and clean. Should have had a continental breakfast delivered at 8.00am, waited till 08.30am but still no breakfast. As I paid for b&b I was not too pleased with this.

Staff unwelcoming and unwilling, thin walls, bathroomdoor had to stay shut because otherwise the entire room would have been filled with the stench of mold that covered the entire bathroom ceiling (ha been painted over - great!) except for the mould it was fair value for price i guess.

Close to UCD and bus route. Breakfast is cereal, yoghurt and bread roll's -fine but only delivered to your room after 8am. If you leave at 7:50am you miss it. Overwhelming smell of industrial cleaner in bathroom. Wardrobe shelf falling down. Had to ask for towels. Room very cold, central heating down too low. Wallpaper lifting and there was a draft through the window.

First of all, the staff was horrible! They did not tell us or note in the booking information that you had to call ahead of time to let them know you were coming. My husband and I had to wait for 1.5 hours until we found someone with a phone we could borrow to call and find out what the deal was. When we got to our room, the bathroom was full of mold!! Gross! The sheets were stained, there was some trash on the floor. They advertise that they have wifi, but it didn't work about 90 percent of the time we were there. The b&b is not a personable atmosphere. The beds are not comfortable I just felt dirty being there.

Pleasant staff who provided me with tea making facilities after I requested them as these were not available in room. Decor was shabby certainly could do with a face lift. A bit of effort and this could be transformed into a respectable b&B. Please be aware on arrival I was told I was sharing a shower room not stipulated when booking.....not great if you need facilities during the night!!! Thankfully I was only availing of it for one night.

The location is very good, on the bus routes to the city as well as the airport and very close to the university. The room is very musty and mouldy in the bathroom. The main road is very noisy which makes sleeping difficult.
