Basics were good.
Breakfast was a bit skimpy. When I am in Ireland I would like a full Irish breakfast!!!
Free wi-fi and friendly staff.
I asked for a quiet room but received one facing the main road which was rather noisy. The bathroom was like a freezer!
bed room breakfast, simple no frills no complications. looking forward to staying again... I work in the area, so all said and done, good value and a place I hope to use again and again.
ensuite had just been painted so very strong fumes in room. as the house faces the N11, opening the window vs. paint odours... so didn't sleep from about 6am with traffic.
Bed was terrible. and really bad traffic noise in the room. Very cold room musty smell in the room.
Breakfast Staff Room Staff again Rate
Clean Comfortable Quiet (away from the N11) Friendly and polite staff Excellent location for UCD & getting into City Centre Dublin Off road parking
The fact that breakfast was continental was a disappointment as the standard in for a B&B Ireland is a cooked breakfast. I feel Donnybrook Lodge are missing a trick here in contrast to their competition. That said, the continental breakfast was very good.
Owner were not friendly We gave her plenty of notice that my partner is on gluten free diet but none were given She bothered doing for us I would not recommend anyone to go there
Nothing really. It was adequate but lacked many things
Not value for money, didnt feel clean, bad reception, no toiletries or a ring to hang your towell
The room was big and also quite warm.
The place so needs doing up. The curtains were hanging off the rail, the ceilings were all stained and the socket for the for tea/coffee facilities was hanging off the wall. There was half a smoke alarm in the room was really put off by that.
Traffic kept me awake all night
Not far from Dublin centre in a cab
The breakfast is very poor The rooms are damp and poor the shower was cold Very close rooms can hear everything
The room and bathroom were clean, if a little dated. There was a bus stop into town just a couple of minutes up the road (take the correct change). The WiFi was free and reliable.
The hotel could do with a bit of an update but my room wasn't too bad. It's on a main road but it was quiet overnight.
price breakfast included room was decent
location, count half an hour (7km) bus to the centre.
Staff were helpful and courteous, easy bus into town,
Rooms could be cleaned better
Very courteous staff at check-in who imparted information about the B&B and transport to the city, etc. Rooms and facilities good. Free internet in bedroom.
Website says a surcharge applies if you check-in after 9pm. Also somewhat restrictive with checkout time. This was not an issue for me as I stayed on a weekend, but might be noisy very early on a weekday morning as it's situated on the N11 dual carriageway into Dublin.
Staff v helpfull
No full irish breakfast
There was nothing to like about this stay other than leaving in the morning ! !
The bedroom was cold and bed smelled to tobacco. Bathroom had mould on walls, rust on the radiator and cracks in the shower basin. Breakfast consisted of a Burco boiler with warm [not boiling water], sachets of coffee and bread in plastic packaging to make toast; orange juice, processed cheese and processed meat all gone by 9 am. This was really "grab the guest's money, never mind their experience. Don't ever stay there.
Mould on ceiling in bathroom and room, cold room. Service could have been friendlier Price was too much for the state of the building. I was worried for my health from the mould spores. I was too tired to care about it at the time but I wish I could get my money back.
Previous customers bra hanging from lamp shade....oh yeah! Thick dust on most thinks above head height. Broken mirror Broken shelf in bathroom Tv to high to view No back on remote control which didnot work Very poor customer service....need I go on?..
Large room, very comfortable bed. Downstairs room so no dragging cases up stairs. Has an Area for parking. On main road but close to shops and bus route. Continental breakfast with fresh fruit.
Musty smell when first enter.
Good prices and very welcoming atmosphere and staff. I wiuld definitely go again!
Large room with en-suite
Basic continental breakfast
The room was good size, clean and the room was cozy. Donny Brook's Lodge Breakfast was decent and the location was perfect to go to the city centre. The bus stops were just next to the Lodge and buses were very frequent, 46a bus number stops at all the essential stops. Donnybrook Lodge Staff was very helpful and friendly. WIFI had good signal too.
A set of Towels were given to us on the first day and were not changed again. Everything else such as toiletries and coffee and tea for the room were updated daily. Heating was on most days but sometimes randomly turned off and left off the whole night.
We were a group of 3. Our room was only supplied with 1 towel and we could not get a wifi connection in the room. The reception didn't have a bell so we were often waiting a while for staff until we saw people use the outside bell to get a staff member to come
